Louis Vuitton offers a brand new interpretation of\u00a0the \u201cWorldtime\u201d function that is bound to be seen on the wrists of globetrotters\u00a0and businessmen with a penchant for fine timepieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A blue dial in the colours of the world<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Louis Vuitton has always offered its customers the opportunity to customise\u00a0their trunks using strips of colour, initials, coats-of-arms and other hand-painted\u00a0geometric pictograms. This colourful universe and vibrant customisations provide an\u00a0original source of inspiration for the design of the Escale Worldtime dial.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the dial is adorned with a new colour: a vibrant blue that lends a very\u00a0contemporary feel to the design.<\/p>\n<p>Using the technique of miniature painting, it took the master craftsman 40 hours\u00a0to complete a single dial in a dedicated workshop at the La Fabrique du Temps\u00a0Louis Vuitton manufacture. A total of 38 colours were applied by brush, one by one,\u00a0in a succession of tiny strokes, before the dial was dried in an oven at 100\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>The result is captivating, with a sparkling, textured and contrasting finish, further\u00a0enhanced by the visual effect that separates the glass from the dial. This is why\u00a0the black triangle topped by a yellow arrow \u2013 the only fixed element on the dial,\u00a0indicating the time and the reference city - is positioned directly underneath the glass,\u00a0so as not to hinder the motions of the mobile discs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A contemporary case in a heritage design<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Made from brushed titanium and polished white gold (horns, bezel, crown) with\u00a0a diameter of 41 mm, the unique case gives the impression of having always existed.<br \/>Like a miniature round trunk containing a precious calibre, this unique case transforms\u00a0the corners of Louis Vuitton trunks into precious horns that protect the watch.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure the Worldtime function is easy to read, the slender white gold bezel offers\u00a0an excellent view of the mainly blue dial. On the reverse side, the sapphire caseback\u00a0reveals an aluminium disc coupled with an oscillating weight that rotates around\u00a0a large \u201cLV\u201d in frosted glass.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Worldtime function showcased in blue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the Escale Worldtime Blue, a simple glance at the initials of a city indicates\u00a0the hour in that time zone, while the minutes are naturally easy to read beneath\u00a0the yellow arrow pointing to the time in the reference city.<\/p>\n<p>Three separate mobile discs make up the dial.
