DESCRIPTION

  • The art of the complication

What could be more suitable than the most complicated of complications to symbolise the fine art of watchmaking?

Guy Ellia have renewed their collaboration with Christophe Claret to present their latest timepiece enhanced with a tourbillon escapement: the Tourbillon Magistère II.

Its distinctive case, an elongated rectangle (44,20 mm x 36,70 mm), comes in red gold or palladium-plated white gold. This skeleton movement has a mysterious winding and features an "invisible" dial, whose main hands display the hours and minutes while seemingly floating in space.

The Tourbillon Magistère II is one the few Guy Ellia creations whith an obvious signature. Actually, the G and E of Guy Ellia act as the bridge for the barrel and the tourbllon's cage respectively, completing minute-long rotations.

In fact, the technical genius of this watch, produced in a limited edition of 12 for each version, lies in the inversion of its bridges compared with a classic tourbillon timepiece. Hence the location of the winding crown at 6 o'clock and the use of the crown positioned at 12 o'clock, while maintaining pressure on the security pushpiece at 10 o'clock, to set the time.

The Tourbillon Magistère II is a rare, exquisite complicated timepiece that holds no secrets, as the transparent back case cover is made of sapphire crystal.

For lovers of fine watchmaking in search of the unusual.
