JEANRICHARD : a new partnership with the LOU Rugby club of Lyon
Authenticity, team spirit, a taste for a challenge and a sense of determination: JEANRICHARD and the LOU Rugby club certainly have many shared values. Founded in 1896, the Lyon Olympique Universitaire club (now usually referred to as LOU Rugby) is one of the oldest of the elite French rugby clubs. With its wolf’s head logo and its characteristic red and black kit, the club has forged its reputation thanks to numerous successes, first winning the Championship of French Division 1 in 1932 and carrying off a Cup/Championship double the following year. In 2011, with a remodelled team, the club won eleven matches in a row, before going on to celebrate its return in style to the Top 14 French rugby championship. This achievement was repeated in 2014. The Lyon club gives top priority to youth training and ensuring continuity for the future – just like Daniel Jeanrichard, who founded the watchmaking industry in the Neuchâtel region of Switzerland in the late 17th century, and played a major role in setting up a lasting apprenticeship system. “Throughout its history, LOU Rugby has always defended with panache all the finest and most vital features of the sport,” said Bruno Grande, Managing Director of JEANRICHARD. This partnership is also a cornerstone of the commercial strategy of JEANRICHARD, which aims to extend its network of dealers all over Metropolitan France, as well as in French Oversea Departments and Territories. The most natural starting-point for this campaign was in association with Lyon-based watchmaker and jeweller MAIER, himself a passionate rugby fan and a partner of LOU Rugby for many years. JEANRICHARD’s timepieces are now on sale at this renowned Lyon establishment. The Swiss Luxury Watch Manufacturer and MAIER share the same “Philosophy of Life” and have thus decided to join forces to support LOU Rugby for the coming season.
