DESCRIPTION

  • Keeping Time Precious

While traditionally known as a feminine and precious small watch pioneer, Boucheron today highlights a radiant and asserted femininity with the return of jewels that tell time.

Combining the subtle art of complicated movements with the creativity of jewelry, the House multiplies the impact with exceptional creative watches, as symbols of exclusive personalities.

From the time that it was founded, Boucheron’s watches have celebrated the perfect balance between the magic of jewelry and watch-making expertise, between purity of design and technical prowess.

Boucheron, a rich history in the watch making industry for nearly 150 years, where knowledge and creativity are passed down from generation to generation, where « taking your time » is synonymous with meticulous perfection and sophistication, where each timepiece is exceptional.

    The Absolutes

Timeless objects where material is sublimated and the meticulousness of the watchmaker becomes the essence of the creation. They are icons of the house, timepieces in the grand tradition of Boucheron.

Reflet XL Château Latour - Vintage 2005

Ever since the 1920’s, precious woods have been one of Boucheron’s materials of choice. In 2010, an exceptional kind of wood inspired the Boucheron workshops to create an innovative and precious timepiece: the two century old oak in which Château Latour’s Grand Millésime 2005 and 1st classified great wine of Pauillac, was jealously aged. This wood is much more than just a material: the myth of one of the world’s finest vintage wines is embodied in this new version of the Reflet XL watch. In a strictly vintaged edition of 100 pieces, this true collector’s item can be savoured with the utmost delight.

The value of an objet-d’art is a subtle alchemy of passion, know-how and a striking story - what lovers of fine items call its soul. Where transitioning fashions are often the rule, the Reflet watch holds a special place. Back in 1947, its sleek, streamlined design and highly innovative interchangeable strap with invisible clasp made this piece of fine watchmaking a true icon. With the House’s 150th anniversary, the Reflet line was complemented with an XL version, fitted with the superb GP 4000 movement and reflecting the current taste for superlative shapes and intricate mechanisms.

    About Château Latour

The Château Latour estate is located at the heart of wine-growing Médoc, where the very legend of Bordeaux wine was born. The finest portion of its vineyards, known as “l’Enclos”, overlooks the estuary of the Gironde, the river to which it owes much of its geological complexity. With its mild climate, the estate benefits from a truly exceptional site.

The unique terroir obtained Premier Cru (First Growth) classification in 1855, alongside Lafite, Margaux, Haut-Brion, with the addition of Mouton-Rothschild in 1973. Today, the men and women who work here - some of them for several generations – remain deeply committed to a permanent quest for excellence, allowing them to consistently produce one of the world’s finest red wines.

    The Perfect Exchange

With its exquisite blend of architecture, pleasure and refinement, the Reflet XL Château Latour watch shares many values with the Millésime 2005 from which she has been inspired. This intensely original watch fully embodies Boucheron’s art of turning a beautiful story into an object of passion for fine connoisseurs of Premier Cru and watchmaking. During the maturation process of Latour’s great wine, one of the key moments is when the wine acquires its finishing traits, revealing the complexity of its flavours, within barrels made of carefully selected oak.

The intimate and mysterious union of wine and wood operates in the silence and darkness of the ancestral “Chais” (wine cellar) in a “perfect exchange”. The wood slowly impregnates, absorbing a small amount of wine – charmingly known as “the Angel’s share”.

The “Angel’s wood”, with its warm, sensual tones of carmine red and crimson, has given birth to a particularly striking masculine timepiece, both powerful and delicate yet restrained.

To enhance these few millimetres of genuinely noble wood, Boucheron called upon the finest experts in their art. From the staves of a barrel - formerly home to the precious nectar - the inlayers painstakingly selected the finest wood sections bearing the unique imprint of the sensual “robe”, or colour, of Latour’s fine 2005 Grand Vin. This perfect osmosis of mythical material and spirit has given rise to a watch for the kind of discerning hedonistic connoisseur who simply cannot resist the sensual pleasure of wearing a fragment of true legend on their wrist!

    About Boucheron

The House of Boucheron, a French family dynasty of jewellers, created by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858, and expanded by four generations of the founder’s direct descendants, in the year 2000 found a worthy successor in the PPR / Gucci Group.

Boucheron has been producing watches since its beginnings. The House quickly earned the honourable name of “Jeweller of Time”. At the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1867, Boucheron was noticed by the jury as a watch pioneer with the presentation of its “intriguing and incredible” châtelaine.

With its clientele of film stars, authors, artists, maharajahs and billionaires, Boucheron – which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2006 - holds particular appeal for those whose celebrity and status find a match in its magnificent creations.

Throughout its long history of brilliant collections, between uniqueness of design and bold sophistication, Boucheron jewellery offers the promise of exquisite luxury and alluring fascination. With the magical ease of a true artist, Place Vendôme’s master jeweller selects and combines precious stones from an extensive palette of flamboyant colours from among the world’s rarest and most desirable gems. With its free spirited and audacious designs, the House of Boucheron constantly reinvents the timeless essence of unique elegance.

Boucheron currently operates more than 45 boutiques around the world, as well as an on-line sales website to satisfy lovers of fine jewellery and timepieces wherever they may be.
