    THE MAISON BOUCHERON
THE HISTORY OF LUXURY & TIMELESSNESS

The first jeweler on Place Vendôme, the Maison opened its doors in Paris under the arches of the Palais Royal in 1858. From the very beginning, Frédéric Boucheron set the tone: this international adventurer traveled to mines all over the world in order to acquire the very finest stones. He was a forerunner in terms of style and technique, and his inventions soon won prizes at the World’s Fairs; he was a man on a continual quest for excellence. For him, every jewel was a work of art and every watch should be a jewel.

True to this spirit of distinction, guided by the search for elegance and modernity, Boucheron has established a reputation for more than 150 years as the jeweler of light in the “City of Light”.
Today, it is the only jewelry Maison whose workshops still overlook the famous Place.
None other has succeeded in winning the favor of both royalty and that of clients with more audacious and carefree tastes.

Boucheron is known and renowned for the quality of its stones and the painstaking care and attention it lavishes on highlighting them, for passing on its savoir-faire from generation to generation, for its ongoing quest for innovation with the best craftsmen of its age, and for the technical prowess of its jewels and timepieces.

    BOUCHERON WATCHMAKING CREATIVITY IN 2012

From 1859, Boucheron watches have been distinguished by their esthetics as much as by their ingenuity. Like all Boucheron creations, they tell a story and arouse emotion. This quest for elegance, modernity and excellence continues in 2012, with the exceptional new pieces AJOUREE, CRAZY JUNGLE HATHI, HIBISCUS TOURBILLON and CYPRIS TOURBILLON WITH THREE GOLD BRIDGES.

Inspired by fabulous bestiary and other symbols dear to Boucheron, each timepiece is designed like a jewelry creation, the work of a true craftsman to sculpt movement, create light and give life to dreamlike or playful piece... in short: a new gem in the extraordinary collection of watches from Boucheron.

In addition to the codes of the Maison, such as variations in volume, rounded lines, or stone setting of a unique quality, Boucheron skillfully and harmoniously combines its savoir-faire with that of the best watchmaking craftsmen of its time. A search for excellence to create exceptional pieces that the Maison has conceived and designed itself.

Both in terms of their sources of inspiration, their savoir-faire and their design, the new timepieces for 2012 are exceptional pieces that like all Boucheron creations capture the light and enhance the precious materials of which they are made.

    CYPRIS TOURBILLON
    WITH THREE GOLD BRIDGES

    A WORK OF ART

CYPRIS TOURBILLON WITH THREE GOLD BRIDGES is not a watch: it is a work of art that tells the time.

The animals best loved by Cypris – the Cypriot name for the Greek goddess Aphrodite – include the dove, turtledove, and even more often the swan drawing her divine chariot.
Like the goddess of love and beauty, it is a day and night bird, a gracious and noble creature held dear by the Maison. In addition to the Cypris necklaces and rings, we find its trace in Boucheron’s secret archives.

The two exceptional CYPRIS TOURBILLON WITH THREE GOLD BRIDGES pieces, featuring black or white plumage, express this sublime and perfect union between the goddess and the bird, so much so that the watch transforms into a swan.

The swan’s neck delicately wraps around the case at whose heart the tourbillon beats.

Its head set with sapphires, spinels and diamonds and its beak cut in natural stone – coral and onyx – curl around the case, adjusting perfectly to the jeweled ensemble.

Finally, its meticulously sculpted mobile feathers, are a juxtaposition of several fans to reproduce the animal’s shimmering coat, hug the wrist in a light and sparkling movement like the beating of wings.

The swan adopts the lines of a majestic bird enveloping the skin like a treasure. The span of the swan from the dial to the watch band make it a true technical feat and an exceptional work of art.

THE MARRIAGE OF HIGH WATCHMAKING AND HIGH JEWELRY

CYPRIS TOURBILLON WITH THREE GOLD BRIDGES timepieces are the fruit of the marriage of High Jewelry and High Watchmaking.

These two exceptional pieces were devised and created in the Boucheron workshops at 26, Place Vendôme. The master jeweler successfully worked in tandem with the best watchmaking craftsmen of its time to develop these two timepieces, whose mouvements were created by the famed Swiss Manufacture Girard-Perregaux.

Each watch individually required more than 10 months to create and over 1,300 hours’ work, if you add the time necessary for the adornment  – over 700 hours’ work by the master jewelers, polishers and setters in Place Vendôme – to that required – over 600 hours – to manufacture the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges by the master watchmaker Girard-Perregaux.
