This function measures the distance between light and sound. The example of lightning and thunder is perhaps the most striking (pun not intended, but you have to admit it\u2019s not bad). The chronograph starts when lightning flashes and stops when thunder rumbles. Then, the delay between the speed of sound and the speed of sign tells you how far away the storm is. The design of this instrument, though, is undoubtedly powerful \u2013 and firmly retro. The watch is offered with an Italian calfskin leather strap that will take on a lovely shine as time goes on. A word of advice if pulsometer scales have caught your interest: they\u2019re not always calibrated to the same base. On this model, the base is 20 heartbeats. It works in a rather intuitive way: you start the chronograph, and count up to the number of heartbeats given on the base, then stop.
