Famed for its purple playing surface, the Sony Open is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 series, which sees players pit their wits against each other in three sets, hoping to win both the title and all-important world tour ranking points. Of the nine ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events, the Sony Open is one of the most eagerly awaited, thanks also to the beautiful backdrop of Miami.<\/p>\n
