Only the real ones know and remember! And especially Tissot! To mark the launch of the new Goldorak U series, the watch brand is springing a surprise by unveiling its partnership with this legendary manga. Two new-generation icons<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Conquering a new generation, Tissot’s iconic 1970s watch, the PRX, and the legendary space robot, Goldorak, have joined forces to create an edition that is sure to excite. Inspired by the famous work of mangaka Go Nagai, season 1 of Goldorak U, released this year, brings together fans of the legendary cartoon and younger fans of Japanese manga. Tissot also shares this intergenerational desire by bringing together the pop culture and watchmaking design of the PRX of the 1970s with the more contemporary design of the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The subtle 40 mm 316L steel piece features numerous details borrowed from the animated series. The dial in particular deserves attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a handsome blue dial, the seconds hand recalls the asteroache of the legendary robot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Blue in colour, it is engraved with the bust of Goldorak, whose features come to life in the dark thanks to the outlines covered in yellow luminescent material. It is also punctuated by Super-Luminova\u00ae-coated hour-markers and baton hands, the seconds hand of which has a counterweight evoking the robot’s asteroache.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discerning eye will also have spotted the words \u2018UFO\u30ed\u30dc \u30b0\u30ec\u30f3\u30c0\u30a4\u30b6\u30fc\u2019 on the rehaut, corresponding to the manga’s orignal title. Water-resistant to 100 metres, this edition extends its power with a Powermatic 80 calibre featuring around 80 hours of power reserve and a non-magnetic Nivachron\u2122 balance spring. Visible on the back through a transparent caseback, the rotor features the engraving of the space hero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
