These specific characteristics are reflected in a model created by Audemars Piguet in 1960, with its asymmetrical 27.5 mm rectangular case in 18-carat yellow gold. [RE]Master02 is a fantastic opportunity to revive this forgotten golden age.&#8221; <br>S\u00e9bastien Vivas, Heritage and Museum Director, Audemars Piguet<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Perfectly proportioned asymmetry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s Royal Oak Tourbillon Volant Squelette Automatique features sand gold, a warm evocation of sand dunes and an alloy of gold, copper and palladium. A first and exclusive for the watchmaking house, this material highlights the different facets of the asymmetrical rectangular case, which reflect the slightest reflections of light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my-watchsite.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ap9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36722\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The asymmetry of the case is accentuated by the 15.8\u00b0 bevelled sapphire crystal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The special feature of the case is its sloping surface at 3 o&#8217;clock, protected by a 15.8\u00b0 bevelled sapphire crystal. Harmoniously following the contours, its design required two years of research and development to guarantee optimal water-resistance. The geometry of the edges and the sharpness of the corners &#8211; which have earned it the nickname \u2018[RE]Master The Edgy\u2019 &#8211; create a striking visual effect accentuated by the satin-finish sand gold. Sand gold is also found on the engraved \u2018Limited Edition\u2019 back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my-watchsite.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ap7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36718\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The dial, the visual attraction of the [RE]Master02<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Crafted in PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) treated \u2018Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50\u2019, the dial features multiple geometric shapes. With different surfaces, the twelve triangles that meet in the centre are separated by galvanised partitions in shades of sand gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my-watchsite.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ap5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36716\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The fragmented dial is dressed in a shade of \u2018Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50\u2019, cut into twelve triangles decorated with a linear satin-finish.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Individually shaped, the brass triangles are decorated with a linear satin finish before being placed on a brass plate. The work is masterfully orchestrated by the craftsmen in the Maison&#8217;s workshops, and once all the elements have been assembled, the result is a remarkable play of light. To let the geometric madness of the whole express itself, the dial has been pared down. Nothing superfluous is left. Only the sand gold hour and minute hands mark time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my-watchsite.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ap8.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36723\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">To allow the geometric shapes and linear satin finish to express themselves, the dial has no hour markers or date indication.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The [RE]Master02 \u2018mastered\u2019 core<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Paired with a matt blue alligator strap fitted with a sand gold pin buckle, this reference beats to the rhythm of the self-winding Calibre 7129. Just 2.8 mm thick, this extra-thin hour and minute movement has the advantage of producing much more energy thanks to a larger barrel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.my-watchsite.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/ap6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36719\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The remarkably decorated oscillating weight features an asymmetrical geometry in sand-gold 22-carat gold.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Visible through a sapphire crystal caseback, the openworked, asymmetrical 22-carat sand gold oscillating weight is fitted with two reversers that ensure bidirectional winding to provide approximately 52 hours of power reserve. To complete the ensemble, the gears are remarkably decorated: C\u00f4tes de Gen\u00e8ve, circular satin-finishing, colima\u00e7onnage, soleillage, circular graining and polished corners.
