Such philosophy naturally attracts watchmaking afficionados who share the same mindset. Ulrich W. Its oversized crown \u2013 meant to be manipulated with gloves, its large Arabic numerals and its central hand time display make for its iconic look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pointer Date complication was introduced the same year and remains a keystone of the collection \u2013 even after Oris was brought by Dr Rolf Portmann and Ulrich W. Herzog and centered on mechanical watches. \u201c<em>We made the decision to focus on mechanical watches, and at that point we decided to make this legendary complication a collection cornerstone. It\u2019s still here today, a constant for almost 90 years<\/em>\u201d Ulrich W. It embodies some sort of reassuring continuity in a field where aesthetic outdoing is a common practice. This aesthetic came out during the 1920s and was particularly popular during the 1940s and the 1970s. Contrasting depths immediately appear.
