End of summer: get ready for one last colourful episode!
Water hues, pastel colours and precious materials fill this last episode dedicated to the colours of summer. From Rome to the Mojave desert, from movie references to azure beaches, the following watches evoke a trendy and elegant end of summer. Bvlgari, IWC, Rolex, Vigilo, Awake… each one of them has its own style and allure.
BVLGARI, Bvlgari Bvlgari
2025 is a year to mark with a (mile)stone for the Bvlgari Bvlgari collection that celebrates its 50th anniversary by unveiling a new set of watches with marble dials.

This watch, officially released in 1975 then re-designed by Gérald Genta – yes, him again! – which became an icon in only a few decades, is now available with a dial of 26 mm diameter. Its everlasting bezel engraved with the famous 14 letters of the collection is made in 18ct rose gold. An aesthetic signature inspired by the ancient engraved Roman coins.

Another Roman reference: its shape. The sky-blue marble dial, called “Azzuro Infinito”, evokes the marble columns of the Pantheon or the Roman peristyles. Each ribbed jewel is unique, and the 12 diamond markers alongside with the rose gold-plated hands make for a harmonious picture. This edition, with a bracelet made of alligator leather, is water-resistant to 30 meters. A quartz movement carries the hours and minutes functions.

IWC, Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar
The IWC « Colors of Top Gun » collection gains a new ceramic tint: the Top Gun Miramar light blue, developed in collaboration with Pantone®. This unprecedented tint adorns the ceramic case of the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar, with matching dial and rubber strap.

This ceramic tint of a complex craft is inspired by the sky-blue T-shirts worn by the Top Gun instructors under their overalls. With an automatic, self-winding, IWC-manufactured movement known for its precision and its sturdiness, only 1,000 copies of this watch are available. The movement ensures a power reserve of 46 hours, a typical IWC vertical display and a bidirectional winding system. The titanium case back is engraved with the Top Gun logo and the inner case is made of electrical steel to ensure a full anti-magnetic protection. Finally, the 41mm instrument, water-resistant to 100 meters, is equipped with the EasX-CHANGE® system that allows you to easily change the strap without any tool, thanks to a built-in pushbutton.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert
As for the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 TOP GUN Mojave Desert, the sand-coloured ceramic takes pride of place. This special tint – which we were already familiar with on a chronograph version – enhances this new 41mm model.

It immediately reminds of the Navy pilots’ overalls as well as the dry mountains surrounding China Lake, in the Mojave desert. The dial displays a scale of minutes and numerals and hour and minute hands covered with Super-LumiNova® which offers optimal legibility under any circumstance. With its automatic manufacture calibre and a generous power reserve of about 120 hours, the brown dial of this watch matches a beige rubber strap with a textile inlay – a confident monochrome design. The final touch: a titanium straps buckle, in the same material as the case back displaying the famous “Top Gun” logo.

ROLEX, Oyster Perpetual 41 “Pistachio” and Oyster Perpetual 36 “Lavender”

As the emblem of the Rolex watchmaking expertise, the Oyster Perpetual embodies an ethereal vision of the measuring of time, with its three hands dial. Its design remains timeless, whatever the size of the case or the colour of the dial, and is available in 2 models (men or women). The 41 mm model comes with a “Pistachio” dial, and the 36 mm one with a “Lavender” dial.

Like all Rolex watches, these Oyster Perpetual models are covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification which ensures excellent performances.
These two exclusive colours are the result of 6 successive layers of lacquer followed by a polished varnish that creates a rich and smooth look. The hands and the indices are covered with Chromalight, an exclusive luminescent substance that glows blue in the dark, offering optimal legibility. An Oyster case protects it all, with a fluted back securely screwed in, ensuring the watch to be both dust-proof and water-resistant to 100 meters.

Both case and bracelet are made of Oystersteel, an exclusive alloy of the 904L steel family that is known to be highly resistant to corrosion. This automatic timepiece is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification, which combines the COSC precision with thorough in-house certification tests. Its time precision is of the order of −2 /+2 seconds per day – a rate deviation highly inferior to the traditional watchmaking standards. Besides, the movement offers a power reserve of 70 hours.

The 18ct white gold hands are covered with highly legible Chromalight (long-lasting luminescence, blue glow), except for the seconds hand.
Oyster Perpetual 41 “Pistachio” – €6,700
Oyster Perpetual 36 “Lavender” – €6,350

AWAKE, Jurassic Watch, “T-REX” and “RAPTORS” Editions
“We spared no expense”. If you know, you know… These words, repeated by John Hammond in Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg, have remained in our heads and in our hearts since our childhood – an everlasting memory. Obviously, these words resonated with the founders of the watchmaker brand Awake, who used them as a leitmotiv for their new project named Jurassic Watch.

By the way, you can read Hammond’s famous words at the back of the “RAPTORS” edition, which stand out by the numerous green hues of its dial – as a reference to the dinosaur’s eyes. As for the second edition, the “T-REX” proudly displays its fire-orange components. But let’s go back to the genesis of this collection, which pays a real tribute to one of the most ancient Vietnamese traditional arts: the Son Mài. Natural lacquer is layered and polished through an ancestral process that creates a lustrous and mirror-like surface. Craftsmen sometimes incorporate additional materials to the lacquer, such as crushed eggshells, gold or silver leaf, or mother-of-pearl. They give a rich texture and a stunning depth to the final material.

Here, the dials of the watches “T-REX” and “RAPTORS” are the result of a long and painstaking work that involves applying sterling silver leaves. The dial is covered with a first layer of lacquer that is dried, sanded and polished, creating a perfectly smooth base. The sterling silver leaves are then applied with a brush, for a visual 3D effect. Next, naturally-coloured pigments are gently added with an airbrush. In the end, the dial is protected by a dozen of layers of transparent lacquer that shows an unmatched, magical sheen. One final polishing reveals all the hues and shimmers of the dinosaurs’ pupils. Inside these beautiful dials, the hands and the indices are covered with a luminescent substance, and a thin polished faceted steel blade atop. Reminiscent of the Japanese concept of chiaroscuro, the space between the sapphire crystal and the dial becomes a true touchstone.

With their 39mm diameters, these 316L recycled steel watches are assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Each edition is limited to 50 pieces only. They are powered by an automatic La Joux-Perret calibre that offers a 68 hours power reserve, and are water-resistant to 50 meters. Both are combined with an Ictyos (scaly salmon) leather strap that matches the dial colour, with an iridescent effect.

The ultimate detail we love: the Golden Ticket feature. One of the 100 boxes will contain a 10cm dinosaur tooth that belonged to the Carcharodontosaurus. Discovered in the Kem Kem beds, Morocco, it is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. “We spared (almost) no expense” they said…
