Multifort TV Big Date: the return of a small screen star

The Multifort TV Big Date S01E02 returns to the screen, ready to outshine the competition. Still nestled in its iconic ‘TV’ case, today's star returns with a dial that looks like it came straight out of an old cathode ray tube. Delivered with three straps to change its look faster than a TV channel, this special edition promises more colours than a 1970s TV credits sequence.

Mido unveils the second instalment of its cult series: the Multifort TV Big Date S01E02.

A high-definition dial… 1975 version

The scene is set: a relief pattern inspired by the multicoloured adjustment bands on old-fashioned televisions, a ‘pixel noise’ reproduced with an almost nostalgic attention to detail, and a satin-finished grey PVD bezel with negative relief hour markers. At 12 o’clock, the large date, the watchmaker’s signature, sits like a breaking news ticker. Visibility remains impeccable, even during prime time at night, thanks to the white Super-LumiNova® applied to the hour markers and the faceted hour and minute hands.

The central motif, in positive relief, is reminiscent of the focus bars displayed on televisions of the era.

Multifort TV Big Date, a square case that rounds everything off

Inspired by 1970s televisions, the watch features a square case with rounded corners – 40 x 39.2 mm – sculpted from grey PVD-treated steel, satin-finished and polished, a first for the collection. Equipped with a crown protector, it features anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both sides.

The matching metal bracelet plays the monochrome card, while two additional bracelets in bright blue and vibrant yellow rubber add a touch of fun. Want to change your look? No problem: the pin bars ensure a quick switch between episodes.

The interchangeable straps feature pin bars for intuitive and ultra-fast changing.

The engine line-up: the Calibre 80 takes centre stage

On the mechanical side, the automatic Calibre 80 intrigues with a power reserve of approximately 80 hours, as its name suggests. In addition, its Nivachron™ balance spring ensures high resistance to magnetic fields and shocks. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the watch can be viewed from behind thanks to its transparent case back, revealing its oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève and engraved with the Mido logo.
