Audemars and Piguet and Richard Mille announce their departure from the SIHH

By MyWatch

On the same day, the Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet manufacturers announced that they would leave the SIHH for strategic reasons. The 2019 edition will mark their last presence at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, which takes place every year in Geneva in January.

Richard Mille’s announcement :

The Richard Mille brand has developed considerably its international distribution network over the last few years, notably by opening a growing number of dedicated mono-brand boutiques. In turn, it has drastically reduced its representation through multi-brand retailers in order to qualitatively satisfy a constant increase in demand. Consequently, the brand’s presence at exhibitions no longer corresponds to its strategy for exclusive and selective distribution. It is with deep regret therefore that we are announcing our withdrawal from the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) following the 2019 edition. The team working alongside Fabienne Lupo at the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie have made it a genuine pleasure for all at Richard Mille for ensuring its presence at the prestigious SIHH fair over the years.

Audemars Piguet’s announcement :

Audemars Piguet announces the end of its collaboration with the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) after 19 years of partnership. The Le Brassus factory will participate in the SIHH for the last time in 2019. The evolution of the watch industry is such that Audemars Piguet’s business model is undergoing a major transformation. The Manufacture has started a new chapter by positioning customers at the heart of its business strategy and deciding to establish direct and personal relationships with watchmaking enthusiasts around the world. Audemars Piguet would like to thank the SIHH for this rewarding partnership and wish them all the best for the future.
