Audemars Piguet is doing for Japan

By MyWatch
The Charity Night was attended by a total of 300 guests including AP VIPs, celebrities and media.
Audemars Piguet Japan, the Tokyo-based division of the renowned Swiss luxury watch brand, announced a broad-based fund-raising initiative to aid the victims of the March 11th Tohoku earthquake in Northern Japan.
“SUPPORT JAPAN” administered by Audemars Piguet Japan is a long-range plan projected to raise 100 million yen to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross. To date, in addition to seeking financial support from Audemars Piguet supporters through various charitable projects around the world, the Japan office has already spearheaded the importation of clean drinking water for pregnant mothers and infants.
“We believe that as an international company operating in Japan it is the firm’s responsibility to lead long term fund-raising initiatives to support the victims of the earthquake and tsunami”, said Mr. Mugino, CEO of Audemars Piguet Japan.
40 of original clocks signed by world famous celebrities and AP ambassadors from United States, Spain, United Kingdom and Switzerland, were gathered and displayed at the venue of the Charity Night.
These clocks will be displayed at Audemars Piguet Boutique Ginza after the event and will be on auction until August 31st.
Two famous artists in different fields performed a one-night special live session, dedicated to the “SUPPORT JAPAN” project. Wu Ru-jun, famous Jinghu player who is regarded as a national treasure in China, represents the tradition of the AP brand philosophy. Verbal, member of m-flo who is also a jewelry designer, rapper and Hip-Hop music producer who actively cooperates with artists such as Beastie Boys, The Neptunes, Kanye West and Kylie Minogue, obviously represents audacity.
Through this live collaboration, these two stars who both cultivate excellence in the expression of their art eloquently personified the three fundamental values of the Audemars Piguet philosophy.
