New Chronomaster Original

Paris beats to Zenith rhythm

Last night, the French capital put on its finest show. Live from the terrace of the Tour d'Argent, in the harmony of brand ambassador Esther Abrami’s violin, Zenith brought together journalists and content creators for a relaxed and especially heart-warming evening to drop its latest release: a 50-piece limited run, the Chronomaster Original Paris Edition.

My Darling, Defy…

Following the Defy Skyline Paris Edition launched in 2024, Zenith pays tribute again to the City of Light. This new Chronomaster Original is a nod to urban views, but also to the perfectly ordered lines of the Grands Boulevards, and the architectural balance which expresses Paris identity. This inspiration comes alive in a stunning dial adorned with a lovat green gradient, which takes its cues from the copper patina covering the capital’s rooftops and monuments.

Rhodium-plated, faceted hands hover above, coated in green luminescent material, complemented by tone-on-tone chronograph sub-dials. A worthy successor to the 1969 A386 version, this exclusive edition highlights a 38mm stainless steel case. Water-resistant to 50 metres, it comes fitted with pump pushers and is protected by a domed sapphire crystal.

The dial adorned with a lovat green dial is a nod to the rooftops and copper work of the French capital.

The El Primero, always a reference

This timepiece beats to the rhythm of one of watchmaking’s most iconic movements: the El Primero 3600 calibre. Ticking at 36,000 vibrations per hour, it displays tenths of a second via a central hand that completes a full rotation of the dial in just ten seconds. A technical showcase that has become Zenith’s hallmark. Visible through the sapphire case back, this high-frequency movement boasts roughly a 60-hour power reserve, uncovering its blue column wheel and openworked star-shaped oscillating weight, the brand’s icon.

Visible thanks to a see-through case back, the high-frequency (5 Hz) El Primero 3600 self-winding calibre displays 1/10th of a second.

This edition comes on a steel bracelet fitted with the new ZENCLASP™ folding clasp, which was one of the great highlights of the latest Watches and Wonders trade show (have a look at our article, “Episode 4: Special Watches and Wonders“). Patented by the brand and totalling 41 components, it showcases a tool-free micro-adjustment system, with 2.5 mm increments up to a total of 10 mm. The timepiece is also available on a black leather strap for a firm vintage look.

Technical innovation: The ZENCLASP™ folding clasp, which required 3 years of development and 600,000 test cycles, features a simple, secure micro-adjustment system with ceramic components in order to improve durability.

This Chronomaster Original Paris Edition strikes the perfect balance between exclusivity, Parisian identity, and the watchmaking heritage embodied by the El Primero calibre. Sold in a 50-piece limited run, this timepiece is bound to adorn collectors’ wrists in no time — if it is not already the case…
