Striking a perfect balance between classicism and originality, perfection and affordability, complexity and understatement, the “1931” Collection features a wealth of assets embodying the quintessence of Louis Erard. Five timepiece lines – “classic, in-house complications, large-size 44 mm, manual winding and 18-carat gold” – offer as many ways of clearly conveying the brand values. For this collection, Louis Erard has deliberately decided not to choose one particularly form of expression, but has instead opted for harmonious variety featuring classic, precious, distinctive, exceptional or highly exclusive limited-edition models. It therefore provides an opportunity to delight devotees of mechanical watchmaking for whom technical and aesthetic mastery should not necessarily imply excessive expense.
This year, two new major works and four other new creations bear the Louis Erard signature and style. Two limited-edition regulator-type watches, a 44 mm chronograph and three small seconds models display subtle plays on structure and volume in a colour palette encompassing silver-toned, anthracite and midnight blue shades. A blast from the past lends a delightful retro charm to the two Regulator models in 180-piece limited editions. The present is interpreted in a trendy manner with the extra-large classic Chronograph; while the Small Seconds version revisits the timeless nature of watchmaking in an authentic and above all understated fashion. Powerful, sophisticated, pure, daring, contemporary and above all functional, creations by Louis Erard display a perfect structure enhanced by uncompromisingly beautiful finishing. These new “1931” offerings are imbued with the Haute Horlogerie spirit made available at affordable prices – a value that remains enduringly dear to Louis Erard.
