DESCRIPTION

  • Masterful black versus pristine white

    Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono Split-Second & Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono

In the year Corum is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Admiral’s Cup model and  reinforcing its presence in the sailing world – with back-to-back announcements of two new  partnerships – it naturally reinforces its sports collection by introducing two timepieces with a  44 mm-diameter profile.

These models have been treated to a gentler look, including a bezel with softer angles, a slimmer case and redesigned lines. The transparent case-back reveals the caliber in all its beauty. Available in white or black versions, the dial is framed by an inner bezel ring featuring 12 monochrome nautical pennants. The aesthetic of the collection has been revisited, both in terms of the contours of the watch and of its colors, which now play on the rivalry between masterful black and pristine white.

Keen to offer products with strong watchmaking content and an ideal match between the size of the  case and that of the movement, CORUM has equipped its Admiral’s Cup 44mm models with 13 ¼’’’ movements chronometer-certified by the COSC, a guarantee of reliability and precision.
Loyal to a reputation based on the exclusive nature of its creations, CORUM presents these two models in limited editions or confidential production runs.

    Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono

Designed for daily wear, the Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono offers sailing aficionados a watch with a sporting design and a more understated aesthetic. Its 44mm-diameter case features satin-brushed finishing and polished lugs.

The Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono houses a mechanical self-winding COSC-certified CO753 movement. It drives date and chronograph functions in addition to the hours, minutes and seconds, and has a 48-hour power reserve. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters, fitted with a date corrector at 10  o’clock and secured by a transparent back providing a view of the oscillating weight engraved with the CORUM name. Its dial bears three counters and a date window at 4.30.
The hands, minutes numerals and chevrons are enhanced with a white luminescent substance to ensure night-time readability. The seconds hand with its CORUM key-shaped counterweight is red-lacquered for optimal legibility of the measured times.
The Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono is fitted with a vulcanized rubber strap with inserts shaped like a boat stern and prow in order to ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist.

The Admiral’s Cup Challenger 44 Chrono in white or black versions will be produced in a total run of 955 in 2010.

Proudly embodying the sporting face of CORUM, the Admiral’s Cup line has consistently appealed to watch connoisseurs since 1960 thanks to the iconic shape of its 12-sided case and its inner bezel ring adorned with nautical pennants. Named after a major international regatta, the collection is regularly enriched by sophisticated and technically accomplished new models.
