DESCRIPTION

  • Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48
A black stem sets sail to conquer the seas

Absolute black in color, powerful, technical… The Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48 chronograph unveiled by CORUM is an exceptional piece. Its titanium case holds a COSC chronometer-certified movement. Made for extremes, this sporty chronograph carries on the legacy of the legendary Admiral’s Cup.

The Admiral’s Cup collection embodies CORUM’s sporty side. Immediately identifiable by their 12-sided cases, these models have been convincing fine watchmaking enthusiasts since 1960, when the collection was introduced. Bearing the name of a legendary international regatta, this line is one of the brand’s four mainstays, along with Romvlvs, Golden Bridge and Artisans. Today, the line is adding an uncompromising black version: the Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48. This limited-edition watch confirms CORUM’s place as a standard of reference among watchmakers.

    A Precision Engine
The Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48 stands unfailingly ready to measure short time intervals. Its automatic-winding mechanical chronograph movement has a COSC chronometer certificate, the ultimate sign of reliability and accuracy. The CO-753 caliber, which provides the chronograph function in addition to hours, minutes and seconds and the date, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations/hour and has a 42-hour power reserve.

    Absolute Black
Distinguished and definitely masculine, CORUM’s new creation has tight lines and is cloaked in the most intense color there is: black. A monochromatic esthetic for one of the brand’s iconic models. The 12-sided case is made of titanium, chosen for its lightness and hardness, and covered with black PVD. Its imposing 48-mm diameter speaks of its power. It has locking pushbuttons thanks to an exclusive lockout system. These buttons are also made of titanium treated with PVD and hug a crown made of the same material and engraved with the CORUM key. The screw-down case back, also of black titanium, is decorated with the Admiral’s Cup trophy. A black rubber bezel surrounds the convex glareproofed sapphire crystal, protecting the upper part of the watch.

The dial of the Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48, which is emblematic of the collection, displays minute numerals and chevrons covered with black luminescent material, an avant-garde choice. The hour and minute hands are faceted and shine in the darkness thanks to an identical treatment. The only exception is the chronograph second-hand.

Assertively placed at the center of the dial, with the CORUM key as a counterweight, the chronograph second-hand is covered with deep black lacquer. The small chronograph minute and hour counters and the small second-hand at 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00 have hands that are polished to a taper. They are made more visible using relief, and are topped by the words CORUM ADMIRAL’S CUP at 12:00. The date is displayed in a window at 4:30. On the flange, another symbol characteristic of the collection, 12 nautical pennants mark the hours. The winding rotor is engraved with the brand’s name, a reminder that CORUM cares as much about the technical quality of its timepieces as about their esthetics. The black vulcanized rubber strap has a pin buckle made of titanium treated with black PVD and engraved with the brand name. The Admiral’s Cup Black Hull 48 is guaranteed watertight to 300 meters.
