In barely more than a century, aircraft have leapt from being winged dinosaurs to objects drawn straight from science fiction, from the wood and fabric Wright Flyer to the airbus 380 or the rafale fighter jet. But whatever the times and aircraft, the watches worn by pilots and crewmembers have always been instrumental in navigation and flying.
A starting point for Bell & ross has been the cockpit, a place where legibility, precision and reliability are of utmost importance. It is here where the brand draws inspiration from the flight instruments to design its timepieces. Built with state-of-the-art technology, the Bell & Ross collection that traces its roots to the watches of yesteryear is known as the HERITAGE collection….
BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE, THE LATEST ADDITION TO A COLLECTION LAUNCHED IN 2009
The dictionary definition of the word Heritage is, “something transmitted by or acquired from a predecessor.” the new bell & ross heritage collection truly is aptly named.
This year’s presentation of the two BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE models begins a new page in a chapter begun in 2009, with the launch of a unique version of the iconic BR.
3 HANDS OR CHRONOGRAPH
The BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE collection comes in two versions.
The “3-hands” BR 03-92 displays the hours and minutes, with central seconds and a date indicator.
BR 03-94 adds a functional characteristic, a crucial navigation tool, in the shape of a two-counter chronograph with 60-second and 30-minute accumulators.
Covered by an anti-glare sapphire crystal, both BR 03-92 and BR 03-94 are water-resistant to 100 m.

INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE WAS BORN
In the INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE, unveiled in 2009, the entire ambition of bell & ross was to create a watch inspired by antique timepieces with aged dials and straps, bringing them back to life with the most modern and high-performance watchmaking techniques.
Golden numerals, index marks and hands, worn dials, natural leather straps taking on their own sheen over time, redolent of old watches, have given iNStrUMeNt br heritage its full authenticity. Seemingly taken straight from the cockpit of a WWII aircraft, this watch’s retro look is consistent with its character.
As a proud successor to this original watch, BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE now perpetuates this same spirit, simply augmented by a soupçon of luxury and sophistication.
With its square satin-brushed steel case and worn black dial, BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE makes of time gone by the most precious inheritance . . .
In keeping with the spirit of the heritage collection, BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE displays numerals, index marks and hands in a color that brings to mind that of past watches, and a leather strap whose shade will change over time. These characteristics were already present on the 2009 iNSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE, and today, Bell & Ross has decided to go even further. the metal appliqué numerals and index marks are now golden, as are the hands. this difference adds luxury
and sophistication to the whole, and belies the extreme care given to the finishing touches.
The 42-mm case comes in satin-brushed steel, while the black-surfaced dial bears a few subtle marks of wear.
The secret behind this retro look rests in our great expertise of the most modern techniques and materials.
INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE (BR 01, BR 03, BR S) AND BR HERITAGE GOLDEN HERITAGE
An instrument in period dress
This square model goes straight to the source of bell & ross creativity, i.e. utilitarian watches of military inspiration and suited to professional use.
After becoming the official supplier to French air Force pilots, Bell & Ross designed a watch displaying the authenticity of a collector’s item. INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE draws inspiration from bygone fighter jet navigation instruments: its golden hands, numerals and photoluminescent index markers suggest watches of the past, while its hot-stamped natural leather strap gives it a period military look.
INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE incorporates the ETA 2892 automatic movement and is available in two versions, BR 01 46mm and BR 03 42 mm, both fitted with a carbon black-finish bead-blasted steel case.
A third version, the br S, will soon be available in 39 mm, with particular distinguishing features taking the form of a matt black ceramic case, quartz movement and a small seconds hand.
With BR 03 GOLDEN HERITAGE, the patina of time, luxury and sophistication come together as one. and history marches on…
