Historic nonconformism of the Breguet Tradition 7038

Architectural and vanguard, the wheels of the movement are revealed on the front of the Tradition 7038, offering a true, mesmerizing visual show.

La Tradition 7038 de Breguet
Ultra-mechanical, the Tradition 7038 reveals an historically inspired movement: balance wheel with a hairspring, center wheel, bridges, central barrel, hands…

Of a perfect symmetry, the mechanism directly draws inspiration from the “subscription watch” invented by the manufacture’s founder of genius, Abraham-Louis Breguet. Indeed, it is during his sojourn in Switzerland – where the watchmaker took shelter during the Terror following the French Revolution – that he had the ingenious idea of designing a quality timepiece, reliable, precise, and affordable. Its barrel is situated in the center, and the wheels are harmoniously exposed to the eye. Reinterpreted in this contemporary version of the Tradition, this disposition ensures that the time is read with a breathtaking view on the movement.

A movement between tradition and modernism

The rose gold bezel, set with sixty-eight diamonds, illuminates the watch.

This self-winding edition in rose gold with delicately fluted sides (37mm diameter) boasts a crown adorned by a cabochon-cut ruby. Minutely set with sixty-eight diamonds, the bezel brilliantly glimmers to emphasize an off-center dial (at 12 o’clock) in Tahitian mother-of-pearl, featuring a handmade clous de Paris guilloche pattern.

With a finely crafted guilloche motif, the gold rotor echoes the decoration of the dial-side barrel.

The deep brown wheels of the movement with a slight sandblasted finish make for a striking contrast. Very graphic, it comprises an antimagnetic silicon balance spring located between 4 and 5 o’clock. A true visual show: the golden central barrel decorated with a rosette motif mirrors the decoration of the gold rotor at the back of the watch. Not forgetting the discreet retrograde seconds hand at 10 o’clock, for a perfect finish.

Last but not least, the exclusive clutch bag for the Tradition 7038

Early collectors of the brand will be happy to learn that this piece exclusively sold in the House’s boutiques is offered in an unprecedented case.

Design accessory, this bright orange clutch boasts a clasp echoing the rosette pattern on the barrel of the watch. The perfect case for the new Tradition 7038.

Fashion accessory in itself, this grained calfskin leather clutch flaunts the same bold colour than the bracelet. It was handcrafted and tailor-made by Italian craftsmen, masters of the traditional art of saddle making. It can be carried by hand, or worn over the shoulder, or across the body.
