Germany’s second A. Lange & Söhne boutique opened to the public on Perusastraße in Munich. The shop is operated in cooperation with long-time partner Wempe Jewellers. The brand’s very first boutique was inaugurated in Dresden in 2007 and ten further shops were opened in the years that followed. Including Munich, Lange now has twelve brand embassies around the world. Additionally, the hand-crafted precision timepieces from Saxony are available from eminent dealers in more than 60 countries.

In Munich’s vibrant inner city, customers and prospects can now discover Lange watchmaking artistry and acquaint themselves with the venerable brand’s origins and values. The rooms are designed to take visitors on a journey through the manufactory’s Saxon homeland. The typical Lange grey of the showcases, a small library, and a watchmaker’s workstation accentuate the ambience of the 37-square-metre boutique. In this place of encounter outside the manufactory, time has a home. It is a special venue permeated by the history and philosophy of A. Lange & Söhne.

“Many people with an affinity for beautiful watches live in and around Munich. From the very beginning, A. Lange & Söhne has had a loyal and growing community of fans here,” said Andreas Haude, General Manager Northern Europe at Lange, commenting on the choice of the Bavarian capital for the new boutique. But Munich is not just one of Germany’s most popular destinations for shopping and tourism. The city is also historically significant for A. Lange & Söhne. In 1976, it hosted an extensive exhibition of historic Lange timepieces commemorating the 101st anniversary of the death of Ferdinand A. Lange, the founder of Saxony’s precision watchmaking. It was an impressive manifestation of how highly the name A. Lange & Söhne was still held in esteem among collectors and connoisseurs.
