Bucherer welcomes nine new watch brands

By MyWatch

Since its opening in 2013, Maison Bucherer has carved its place as the go-to reference for watchmaking in Paris. At the heart of the Golden Triangle of fine watchmaking in Paris, Bucherer offers renowned brands a retail space of 2,200m2 spread over three floors to show off their creations, making it the world’s biggest store dedicated to prestige watches. Since the opening, the designs of 24 different Houses can be found here: Rolex, Carl F. Bucherer, A.Lange & Söhne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Blancpain, Breguet, B Swiss, Chopard, Girard-Perregaux, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Longines, Mido, Montblanc, Oris, Panerai, Piaget, Rado, Roger Dubuis, Tissot, Tudor, Vacheron Constantin and Zenith.

The ambiance is serene, a minimal atmosphere bathed in light for this exceptional setting offering an extraordinary choice of more than 4,000 watch and jewellery references, many of which are either exclusive or limited editions.

This unrivalled offer, which goes from the accessible to the exceptional, is completed with the advisory services of a welcoming, experienced and multilingual team. On top of this, Maison Bucherer offers a range of unique services like an exclusive in-store watchmaking atelier that provides clients with access to the incomparable know-how of artisans trained in the pure Bucherer tradition.

A singular identity

A favourite spot for watchmaking aficionados from both Paris and the world over, this Parisian store has carved its place in Bucherer’s network of 26 boutiques in France, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. It is the showcase of a Maison with a distinguished, singular identity. Since its creation in Lucerne in 1888 and now with a staff of 1,500, Bucherer has always focused on combining heritage and a taste for innovation and audacity.

A family owned firm for three generations, Maison Bucherer is today the leading retailer and distributor of watches and jewellery in Europe.

To celebrate its second anniversary, Bucherer is reinventing itself and welcoming nine new watchmaking houses

To celebrate and mark this anniversary, Maison Bucherer is getting a facelift, redesigning its interior layout to allow visitors to discover nine new watch brands.

Maison Bucherer thus has the pleasure of welcoming within its walls: Bell & Ross, Frédérique Constant, Glashütte Original, Hamilton, H. Moser & Cie., Parmigiani Fleurier, Poiray, Ulysse Nardin and Vulcain.

Their creations can be discovered through the store in new spaces that display Bucherer’s signature concept: displays that, for some, offer a broad range for fans of beautiful timepieces. But there are also boutiques that allow visitors to discover, in the spirit of a revisited department store, the singular world of each House.

«After only two years of existence, Maison Bucherer in Paris has become a place of reference for watch aficionados both from Paris and elsewhere. With these nine new brands, Bucherer offers an even more exhaustive collection in its unique setting as the world’s biggest store dedicated to traditional watchmaking. Our teams are happy to welcome you to share their passion and know-how and help you discover the world of Bucherer.»
Guido Zumbühl, CEO of Bucherer Group

These newcomers enrich the existing offer with a proposition designed to answer the demands of those who wish to initiate themselves in the art of watchmaking with quality pieces that are nevertheless accessible, as well as to answer those of a discerning clientele seeking exceptional timepieces.

Accessible dreams

Five innovative watchmaking brands with high quality know-how are now found on the lower ground floor of the store

Bell & Ross
In the space of 20 years, Bell & Ross has become an internationally renowned and reputed brand. Born from the passion and desire to equip professionals of the extreme with tools adapted to their trades, its creations are based on the values of excellence, rigour and precision. Out of the twin culture of French luxury know-how and Swiss watchmaking expertise, Bell & Ross regularly puts its watchmaking savoir-faire, engineering and design at the service of professionals of military or civil aviation, devising high-precision instruments for them.

«Bucherer Paris, the temple of high-end timepieces, has become a central player on the Parisian watchmaking scene. It seemed natural for Bell & Ross to take a place in this one-of-a-kind boutique and reveal its new products to the many tourists and customers ho visit this prestigious store.»
Carlos-A. Rosillo, CEO and President of Bell & Ross

Frédérique Constant
Founded in 1988, Frédérique Constant is a Swiss watchmaking manufacture situated at Plan-les-Ouates, in the Canton of Geneva, offering high-quality contemporary and classic timepieces at reasonable prices. Between accessible luxury and innovative strength, each Frédérique Constant watch offers timeless design and is handmade, checked and controlled over a long period to ensure optimal quality in terms of both aesthetics and comfort on the wrist.

«Frédérique Constant and Bucherer are two family owned firms united by their passion for fine Swiss watchmaking.»
Peter Stas and Aletta Stas, co-founders and owners of Frédérique Constant

Hamilton
Hamilton was created in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (U.S.). Its watches bring together an American spirit with the incomparable precision of the latest movements and new technologies from Switzerland. Reputed for its innovative design, Hamilton has a strong presence in Hollywood: its products are visible in 400 films. The brand is also the proud heir of aviation traditions. Hamilton is part of Swatch Group, the most important manufacturer of watches in the world.

«It is an honour for Hamilton to be able to join Bucherer’s selection today in the heart of Paris – it is a place that is unique in the world, grouping together the most prestigious watchmaking brands.»
Sylvain Dolla, CEO of Hamilton International Ltd

Poiray
Poiray, the attractive Jewellery and Watchmaking House, was created in 1975. A young, creative player among the giants of Place Vendôme, it has kept its youthful charm with a freshness that has not changed with the passing years. 1985 saw the birth of the Poiray watch. «Ma Première» revolutionized watchmaking design with its interchangeable strap and its incredibly elegant allure, despite being very easy to wear. Young and refined, Maison Poiray attracts all generations and subtly portrays chic and Parisian charm – undeniable assets when it comes to conquering the world.

«Maison Bucherer is a watchmaker referent, which thanks to its international status, is a wonderful showcase for our brand.»
Manuel Mallen and Benjamin Lobel, co-owners and associates of Poiray

Vulcain
Since its creation in 1858 by the Ditisheim brothers, the Manufacture Vulcain has occupied a distinctive place in the fine watchmaking world. It is renowned for its iconic models – like the legendary Calibre Cricket, the first wristwatch with a truly functional mechanical alarm clock, which become known as the «watch of presidents» after being worn by Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon and Johnson – as well as for its unique mechanical movements. To innovate at the same time as remaining faithful to its history and savoir-faire is the credo that guides the work of the master-watchmakers at Manufacture Vulcain.

«The opportunity to offer our sophisticated timepieces at Bucherer in Paris is not just a privilege; it is also an important step in the development of Vulcain in 2015. It is an honour to find ourselves alongside the best and most prestigious watch brands now available to the sophisticated clientele of Bucherer in Paris.»
Renato A. Vanotti, CEO of Vulcain

Exceptional Timepieces

Synonymous with excellence and prestige, these four legendary names are now present on the ground floor of the store

Glashütte Original
Around 170 years ago, the first master-watchmakers set up business in Glashütte, in Saxony. Over the years, in the respect of tradition and with a unique expertise when it comes to watchmaking, they have met with unprecedented success. A genuine watch manufacture, Glashütte Original equips all of its watches with movements that it develops and produces in-house. Renowned for its modern, original and high-end timepieces, it is synonymous today with German excellence in terms of engineering and fabrication.

«Elegance, refinement and perfection are all values that Glashütte Original shares with Bucherer. As such, a collaboration between the two Houses was an evidence, offering our German watchmaking firm the opportunity to develop its presence in Paris, the world’s cultural capital.»
Yann Gamard, CEO of Glashütte Original

H. Moser & Cie
It was in 1828 in Saint Petersburg that Heinrich Moser founded the company that bears his name. Originally from Schaffhousen, in Switzerland, where his family had been practicing the watchmaking art for generations, Heinrich Moser was a precursor in many domains. Today based in Neuhausen am Rheinfell, the manufacturer H. Moser & Cie. masters the whole design and production process and elaborates highly innovative products that are faithful to its founding values: ingenuity, innovation and a little touch of sexy audacity that makes all the difference.

«Bucherer shares many values with the firm that is fondly called «the little gem of Schaffhousen»: the two companies are independent, family owned, Swiss German, and were created in the 19th century – in 1828 for H. Moser & Cie., in 1888 for the famous retailer. Already available with this strategic partner in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, H. Moser & Cie. is thus very proud to also be present from now on in Paris in this true watchmaking palace of 2,200m2.»
Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie.

Parmiginai Fleurier
It was in 1996, in the heart of Val-de-Travers, that Michel Parmigiani founded one of the most prestigious labels in fine Swiss watchmaking. Parmigiani Fleurier today remains one of the rare brands to design each model like a masterpiece, built and decorated in its workshops. Through the strength of its independence, Parmigiani Fleurier has been able to invent its own style. Thanks to its unique identity, Parmigiani Fleurier’s collections, whether with simple or grand complications, are immediately recognizable.

«We are proud to be partnering today with Maison Bucherer, one of the most important representatives of fine Swiss watchmaking in an international centre of luxury like Paris.»
Jean-Marc Jacot, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier

Ulysse Nardin
In 1846, aged just 23, Ulysse Nardin created, in Locle, the company that still carries his name today. His pocket and marine chronometers soon became a reference. Fascinated with this visionary brand that has won more than 4,300 watchmaking prizes including 18 gold medals, Rolf W. Schnyder bought the brand in 1983. His meeting with Ludwig Oechslin, a watchmaking genius, would mark a turning point and a new chapter in the history of Ulysse Nardin, where technological innovation remains the cornerstone, together with a respect for the brand’s maritime origins.

«This arrival is the result of a long history of friendship between two entrepreneurs setting out on their adventures, Mr Jörg Bucherer and Mr Rolf W. Schnyder, the former owner of our House. These two visionaries were always convinced they would collaborate one day, and today it is in Paris that it becomes reality. We are proud to be the symbol of this!»
Susanne Hurni,
Marketing & Communication Director of Ulysse Nardin
