By Frank Declerck, Vincent Daveau

Herbelin x Frank sans C

The Herbelin x Frank Sans C watch takes the Frank’s colour coding: white and navy blue.

Here is the Herbelin x Frank Sans C dive watch! Obviously with my white and sun-finished navy-blue colour coding! Its 42 mm-diameter case with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal to see properly the indications even in the depths of the ocean. Its mechanical self-winding calibre, well-made in Switzerland, allows a 38-hour power reserve.
The date is put under a magnifying glass, and it is practical for the parents like me who sometimes need glasses to read things written in small letters!

Herbelin Frank Sans C
Herbelin x Frank Sans C: The « Made in Frank » is obviously written at 6 o’clock!

You know it, my two obsessions on a dive watch are water-resistance and the power reserve indicator. Simply because it is useless to have a unidirectional rotating bezel for safety if we cannot know if the watch works! That is why we put a small luminescent material at the tip of the second hand because it moves permanently.

Water-resistant to 300 m the Herbelin x Frank Sans C watch allows you to practice all water sports.

And the water-resistance is also important especially since the watch is water-resistant to over 100 m – here 300 m – because « 100 m » is a false friend for the divers (see the chart below).
And so like this, we have an instrument that allows to practice all extreme water sports without any risk of water infiltration into the case. Be careful, I remind you that you need to have your winding crown well screw-down!

Tableau des profondeurs de montres
On this chart you can see what your watch can do according to its water-resistance.

The water-repellent and bi-material fabric strap is very comfortable with small blue saddle stitch very chic as I like.
Only on sale on the Herbelin website and be careful it is a limited collection of 100 pieces. “There will not be enough for everyone” as they say.

Herbelin x Frank Sans C
The Herbelin x Frank Sans C watch will be number individually on the case back.
Here the case back of the 1 of 100, will come next, 2 of 100, 3 of 100…

It should be noted that the first 15 orders will be delivered with a deep navy-blue recycled NATO strap!

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Golf Edition

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 - Golf Edition
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Golf Edition – has an OLED dial to see all the information in the direct daylight.

So, what can we say except that this new version has great improvements compared to the previous version that was already very developed. With 40,000 courses in memory in a high resolution 2D map, the watch displays distances obviously but also obstacles in colour (blue for water, yellow for bunkers…) with a screen that can be very well seen in the direct daylight with the OLED.

Another main improvement, the power reserve has more battery. Before and after a round, the watch’s battery was almost discharged. Now, it can still stay on until the end of the day after a game. Very interesting also, the watch detects the swing and the power of the shot thanks to a gyroscope and an accelerometer! This allows it to analyse your progress by analysing the distance you travel with each club. It can then advise you on the good club like a true caddy! What is also nice is the automatic memory of the shots made during the previous games on a same course. So, this allows to see if the adopted strategy on the hole was good.

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 - Golf Edition
A magnetic ball mark is put on the folding clasp of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Golf Edition 2022 watch.

The watch displays the score, distance, advised club and hole played. It should be noted that the change of hole is very intuitive when the GPS has weaknesses what happens on all golf watches when the holes cross one another. The white strap takes the alveolus design of a golf ball but like it is interchangeable, the watch is also delivered with a black strap that makes it more refined.
It works with Android or Apple easily with the high-performance and flowing Bluetooth 5.0. The small box has in addition to the charger, 3 Pro V1 balls with logo and a QR code to facilitate the setup and synchronisation to the mobile phone.
Another very nice function is the 3D vision of the hole on the mobile phone that allows to see your golf shot like on TV, it is impressive. Last detail and not the least, the strap is equipped with a folding clasp that includes a magnetic ball mark. Clever thinking…

Tissot – T-Race Cycling 2022

Tissot – T-Race Cycling 2022
Black with yellow, the Tissot – T-Race Cycling 2022 is the official watch of the Tour de France.

The Tissot Maison, sport enthusiast and sponsor of these three legendary racing bikes as Official Chronometer, had to make a specific timepiece for the cycling world. The new Tissot T-Race Cycling chronograph was created in honour of the peloton’s heroes, the racing cyclists who inspire the cyclists worldwide. It is available in three special collections linked to important events highlighting the power of the « Little Queen »: Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta in Spain. For this 2022 piece powered by a quartz calibre displaying the hours, minutes, and timed times in addition to giving the date in aperture, the choice was made to come back to a more classic design of the case than its previous versions.

Tissot – T-Race Cycling 2022
The official logo of the Tour de France is engraved on the case back of the Tissot – T-Race Cycling 2022 watch.

However, the piece remains inspired by the bicycle. Thus, the pushbuttons always come back to the shape of the brake handles and the hands symbolise the spokes of bicycle wheels. The leather of the strap reminds with its holes, the shape of the bicycle’s handlebars and the crown reminds a gear cluster of these racing bikes powered by the strength of their user. On the full case back are engraved the logos of the racing bike. And, to perfectly distinguish the pieces between them as they all have a 45 mm-diameter steel case black coated and water-resistant to 100 m, the colours of each competitive event (yellow for the Tour de France, Rose for the Giro and red for the Vuelta) are taken on the chronograph second hands and crowns.

Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 KELLY SLATER

Kelly Slater: the surf legend and member of the Squad Breitling took part in the creation of the watch.

The Breitling Maison revealed, during the Wheels & Waves in Biarritz, a new version of its famous SuperOcean dive watch. Original and more modern in its graphic approach, this icon dedicated to sport diving keeps the SuperOcean Slow Motion from the « Sixties » history’s philosophy.

The Breitling Superocean Automatic 42 KELLY SLATER takes the favoured colours of the surfer.

More than a dive watch, this reference available in 4 sizes (46, 44, 42 and 36 mm) which purports to be a new way to understand time without making it lose its dynamic as a tool designed to be with the athletes in their adventures. Available in steel, gold and steel (42 mm), but also in bronze (42 and 44 mm-diameter), this novelty is water-resistant to 300 m for every case middle dimension. To make it trendy, a long and difficult work has been made on the dials. These watches are offered in several colours according to the three case metals used (have a look at the technical specifications sheet).

Breitling - Superocean Automatic 42 KELLY SLATER
Breitling: on the left the Breitling Slow Motion that has inspired the new Superocean Automatic 42 KELLY SLATER.

They are equipped with large hour marker and specific hands (the minutes hand is decorated with a very identifiable square) all Super-Luminova® coated to ensure a better legibility in the dark. All the references are equipped with rotating bezels with high-tech ceramic insert. However, it should be noted that the 36 to 44 mm-diameter versions are unidirectional whereas the 46 mm-diameter version is bidirectional with a patented slide. Available on flexible steel bracelet or on rubber links of the same colour of the dial, each fastened by an adjustable folding clasp (0 to 15 mm), these watches are all powered by the self-winding mechanical Breitling calibre 17. Effective, resistant, and accurate, it vibrates at 4 Hertz and is chronometer certified by COSC. And because it is also important to give something to please the collectors, Breitling makes in addition to the usual collection, a 42 mm-diameter Kelly Slater version and in limited edition.

TAG Heuer – Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition

TAG Heuer - Monaco Purple Dial Edition Limitée
An original colour for the TAG Heuer – Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition (500 numbered pieces).

Of all the chronographs made by TAG Heuer, the Monaco is for sure the most daring. To demonstrate it, this instrument that has always shaken up conventions, comes back with a deep purple dial with a smoked gradient to delight both the sport and fashion world. This icon from the « Seventies », structuring element of the film « le Mans » released in 1971 on the wrist of Steve McQueen, is the proof that with a dial having an unexpected and a little psychedelic colour, it is still very trendy.

TAG Heuer - Monaco Purple Dial Edition Limitée
On the case back, hints of purple on the calibre and on the strap are characteristics of the TAG Heuer – Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition.

But be careful, the choice of this colour is not only for standing out this chronograph. It refers to patina that it is possible to see on the dials of the vintage pieces whose electric blue shade has sometimes turned into a deep purple with time and the UV that the old acrylic crystal did not stop. In this version from 2022 edited to only 500 pieces individually numbered, this landmark with a 39 mm-diameter brushed polished steel watchmaking design has a chronograph Calibre Heuer 02 TAG Heuer. Visible through the sapphire case back, this heart equipped with an 80 hour-power reserve has a special oscillating weight and a column wheel and purple coated markings. And because luxury is in the detail, the alligator strap has a purple inner lining and can be fastened on the arm thanks to a folding clasp decorated with the brand logo.
