This year, the Brand is once again paying homage to Daniel JeanRichard, by celebrating the 300-year anniversary of the pocket watch produced by the man considered since the 17th century to be the father of Swiss watchmaking. Affectionately known as "Daniel", it is at the very heart of the legacy he left us. Inspired by this model dating from 1710, the elegance and understatement of the Bressel Hommage "Daniel", have earned it a place among the great watchmaking classics.
The Bressel Hommage "Daniel" is dedicated to Daniel JeanRichard, the pioneer and "father" of watchmaking in the Neuchâtel Mountains, and is a celebration of one of his greatest creations, to date the only known silver pocket watch of its time. Taking much of its aesthetic inspiration from this model, the Bressel Hommage is remarkable for its understated look. Its timeless style represents a marriage of passion and expertise. To examine this Manufacture watch is to understand the artistry required to create a piece so complex yet so pure. Its noble lines are beautifully expressed in a 38 mm diameter pink gold case. This houses a white lacquered dial, echoing the enamel used on the pocket watch. Inspired by the "Daniel" pocket watch, the finishes and details on the curved dial offer perfect readability: the Roman numerals are delicately painted in black, the hands in blued steel are tapered in the form of leaves and the date is displayed in red digits in a window at 3 o'clock. The sapphire crystal adorning the case-back reveals the workings of the Manufacture movement: the JR1000. This self-winding mechanism, which offers a power reserve of 48 hours, perfectly illustrates the technical prowess of JEANRICHARD. The Bressel Hommage is also available with a diamond-set bezel.
