DESCRIPTION

  • C1 Code - The algebra of time

Logic, method, performance. The new C1 Code chronograph clearly states its basic premise. The algebraic formula expresses the structural complexity of the timepiece directly above the dial surface by invading the imposing sapphire crystal. The equations are interpolated amid the time information, unequivocally demonstrating Concord's chosen stance at the heart of engineering.

At Concord, time measurement has its own inherent codes: a 3.3 mm sapphire crystal, 7 lateral self-locking screws, 3 dial levels, 16.7 mm thickness, 44 mm diameter, 53 case components, 7 crown elements. The new C1 Code chronograph proudly bears witness to this rigorous conceptual approach.

The key construction data compose an algebraic formula developed by a Cambridge University Maths professor. Tattooed onto the sapphire crystal of the C1 Code, it vividly demonstrates the interaction between the chronograph's technical specifications. In mathematics as in engineering, meticulous attention to minute details is a resolutely scientific matter.

Beneath the algorithms, time measurement enjoys full freedom of movement, with an automatic calibre beating at a rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour with a level of accuracy that earns it chronometer certification by the COSC. The layered dial highlights its performances by playing on the contrast between brushed steel and black carbon fiber. On either side of the chronograph counters, the date display and the permanently rotating small seconds disk create a well-ordered layout that promotes readability.

The stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 20 ATM has been built like an impregnable fortress. A rubber-clad side-screwed protective ring consolidates the case middle, while eight elements overlap the bezel to strengthen the sapphire crystal. The crown features seven methodically integrated rubber, composite and steel inserts, thereby enhancing its density. Even the dial plays the game by using carbon fiber, a material known for its high-resistance properties; while the black vulcanized black rubber strap, inserted into a titanium element and then directly secured to the case by two self-locking screws instead of lugs, further reinforces the impressive overall solidity of this model.

The algebraic structure speaks volumes, as the C1 Code boldly reveals the mathematical precision on which Concord has built its success and which guarantees its unfailing performance and reliability.
