The latest thoroughbred to emerge from the Concord stables, the C2 chronograph carries the genes of a brand that has successfully imposed its own vision of mechanical watchmaking: sleek designs, sophisticated constructions and a cutting-edge movement give distinctive depth and substance to the measurement of time. The newcomer adopts Concord’s signature design features in order to assert its own ambitions. A worthy heir to the emblematic C1 collection, it confirms tge brand’s expertise in terms of both creativity and technical mastery.
With its athletic build and determined expression, the C2 chronograph is part of a neo-black contemporary universe mingling mechanics and industrial design. Firmly anchored in the 21st century, when hours often flash by like seconds, this timepiece tames short times with unfailingly accuracy and a cool-headed approach. The strength of character it so boldly proclaims speaks volumes about its conception. The 43 mm-diameter case in black PVD-coated stainless steel is distinguished by harmoniously balanced proportions. Its slimmer size accentuates the impression of finesse and highlights the combination of angles and curves. The innovative construction extrapolates on the concept of Concord’s luf-free attachments by further accentuating the smoothly integrated look and feel of the wristband: new horizontal tubular attachments enable it to literally embed itself in the case. Firmly secured inside the case, it thereby becomes an inseparable and essential part of the latter, thus ensuring an ideal flow, a perfect fit on the wrist, and a unique rendering. The visible screws reinforce the industrial nature of the construction, confirmed by a black triple-blade butterfly clasp. The strongbox-shaped back of the case, which is water-resistant to 100 meters, protects a 37-jewel mechanical automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Beneath the 2 mm thick sapphire crystal, time makes the most of its spacious surroundings. The three-part tone-on-tone dial features hands and hour-markers enhanced with a luminescent substance and ensuring optimal readability. Only the flamboyant red chronograph sweep seconds hand echoing the fiery shade of the rubber strap serves as a vivid reminder that time can sometimes be incisive. The inner bezel ring diverts the famous protective tabs straddling the bezel in order to use them as hour-markers.
