Chronograph channels retro Riviera chic

Michel Herbelin French Watchmaking Studio today unveils a chronograph addition to the Cap Camarat collection named after the famous headland near Saint-Tropez. Inspired by a 1970s model in the brand’s watchmaking heritage, the sporty new timepiece channels vintage chic and packs a punch with its features.

Distinguished design

The 316L stainless steel case, spanning 42 mm, displays a vertical brushed finish that is tastefully complemented by polished facets. The hexagonal shape makes for a sturdy geometric look, accentuated by the crown protection stamped with the Michel Herbelin logo, and a vertical brushed steel bezel decorated with six screws.

Beneath a sapphire crystal, the round dial gleams in edgy graduated blue tones. In another nod to the brand’s nautical signature, the horizontal pattern calls to mind sailor stripes. Seventies-inspired bevelled hour markers and rectangular faceted hour and minute hands are spotlighted with a luminescent coating. A discreet date aperture is at 6 o’clock, and a minute track on the encircling flange ensures precise reading.

Fitted on a sturdy brushed and polished steel bracelet with the signature Michel Herbelin four links, the sporty yet stylish Cap Camarat chronograph is designed for the urban gentleman who loves to live life to the full.

A sporting spirit

Fitted with a Swiss-made quartz Ronda chronograph movement, this new Cap Camarat gives readings accurate to 1/10th of a second. The Chronograph push-pieces on either side of the crown are used to start, stop or reset the direct-drive seconds hand in the centre of the dial. The time recorded is displayed in counters arranged in a V pattern on the dial.

The Cap Camarat chronograph is water-resistant to 100 metres and suitable for all sports. The watch was conceived, designed, assembled, regulated and quality checked at the Michel Herbelin studios in the Jura mountains of the Franche-Comté region. Heir to a French watchmaking tradition stretching back over 70 years, this timepiece is true to the spirit of the brand: quality craftsmanship at an affordable price.
