This is the first time that a Michel Herbelin automatic watch has included a moon phase indicator. The \u201cfifties\u201d elegance of this timepiece goes perfectly with this complication,\u201d states Mathieu Herbelin, the founder\u2019s grandson and Associate Creative Director.<\/p>\n<p>At one time, the sun and the moon were the only indica- tors that humans had to mark the seasons, months, and days. It is thus logical that the moon became the pre- ferred celestial body of watchmakers. In keeping with this tradition, Michel Herbelin\u2019s new watchmaking cre- ation draws one\u2019s gaze to the aperture at 6 o\u2019clock featur- ing a moon phase indicator. Presented on a lacquered midnight blue disk punctuated with stars in a purposeful- ly minimalist style, it reflects an accurate image of each stage of the moon\u2019s metamorphosis.<\/p>\n<p>Very easily adjusted with the fluted spherical crown adorned with a blue spinel cabochon, this watch function is time-regulated by the date aperture at 3 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BETWEEN ELEGANCE AND TRADITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This Inspiration Automatic Moon Phase model features completely polished surfaces and a 40 mm diameter 316L stainless steel case. Prolonged by discreet tapered horns, the round case middle highlights a convex dial encircled with a delicate bezel. Protected by a domed sapphire crystal to accentuate its vin- tage spirit, the three delicately curved dagger-shaped hands enliven the silvered back that shimmers in the changing light thanks to its brushed sunray finish. With its sober, understated colour, it tells the time accurately thanks to the clear layout of the motion work and rhodium-plated anthracite markers.<\/p>\n<p>All while remaining faithful to the spirit of the Inspiration collection, this limited edition stands out on its own thanks its new brown leather strap, which was crafted by a French workshop that respects traditional know-how.
