DESCRIPTION
- KING POWER MARADONA
The second stage in the partnership between Hublot and its loyal ambassador Maradona was marked in Shanghai, China, with the unveiling of the new King Power Maradona, paying tribute to the most iconic footballer to still be working the pitch.
To mark this occasion, Hublot has developed a King Power equipped with a chronograph movement which has the special feature of including a central 45-minute counter. This makes for better readability - quicker and more efficient. The wearer can keep track of both hands at a glance; the first indicates the seconds, and the other hand, specially developed for football, indicates the time elapsed out of the 45 minutes in each half.
The movement – here in an Aero Bang version and visible through the sapphire dial - has also undergone new skeleton working, with the upper bridge open to reveal even more of the working parts of the watch and its fine mechanics. The black ruthenium coating gives it a beautiful overall effect of homogeneity, and allows clearer reading. With blue (the sky blue of Argentina) and white as the predominant colours, the minute track, counter positioned at 9 o'clock, date window at 4 o'clock, and of course Maradona's lucky number 10 and signature complete the assembly in the Argentine players colours. The King Power case has been very carefully thought out, particularly in terms of the two push-buttons which are now protected by individual push-piece covers, the design of which is fully integrated on both sides of the crown. In a subtle reference to Maradona's colours, the black rubber bracelet features an elegant white stripe through the middle as a final touch.
