Great news for travel enthusiasts and for all those who are constantly juggling time zones year-round:the Léman collection welcomes a contemporary-sized timepiece indicating a second time zone.A model for refined and discerning globetrotters.
Connoisseurs will immediately recognise the complexity of the mechanical movement powering the Léman Time Zone. While the indication of a second time zone is a complication that is often underestimated, it perfectly illustrates the Blancpain philosophy of uniting contemporary demands with the grand watchmaking tradition.
The new Léman Time Zone displays a powerful personality entirely in line with the Léman collection, combining modern aesthetics with traditional horological expertise. At the heart of this model beats a 253-part mechanical self-winding movement, Blancpain Calibre 5L60, endowed with a 100-hour power reserve. In addition to indicating the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock and date through a window at 3 o’clock, it also displays a second time zone at 12 o’clock, complete with a day/night indication engraved on a disc at 9 o’clock. Assembled and decorated by hand in the workshops of the Manufacture in Le Brassus, the rhodium-plated Calibre 5L60 is distinguished by the meticulous finishing visible through the sapphire crystal case-back: Côtes de Genève motif, bevelled bridges, blued screws and an oscillating weight carrying the Blancpain name in blue.
The new Léman Time Zone is equipped with a steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter, fitted with a sapphire crystal, screw-locked crown and screw-down case, together guaranteeing water resistance to a depth of 100 metres. The ebony black or white lacquered dial is enhanced with “Aqua Lung” type hour-markers and Arabic numerals. Cone-shaped hollowed hands with a luminescent tip complete the dynamic overall effect of this model and ensure perfect readability at all times. For an additional touch and elegance, Blancpain also offers a model in 5N red gold with an opaline-white dial.
The integrated hand-sewn crocodile leather rubber-lined strap is equipped with an innovative new folding clasp system. Based on two folding blades engraved with the Blancpain logo and accurately guided by an integrated spring, it looks exactly like a classic pin buckle once closed. A comfortable and elegant wristband that Blancpain devotees are looking forward to slipping nto their wrist.
