Carved from a block of titanium, generously shaped and resolutely dynamic, the new 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono Titanium will delight all devotees of fine sporting mechanisms. Its impressive lightness is complemented by the splendid view of its “engine” that admirers can look at through its sapphire crystal case-back. Water-resistant to 100 metres, it is issued in a limited edition of 1000.
Following the collection’s 20th anniversary, Chopard is adding a new model to the legendary line of 1000 Miglia watches: the GT XL Chrono Titanium. Its prominent natural black rubber strap with its 1960s Dunlop tyre-tread motif is teamed with an ultra-light, avant-garde 44 mm case in polished and brushed titanium, expressing a glowing tribute to mechanical sports.
The charcoal-grey horizontal-guilloché dial featuring three counters is swept over by a central seconds hand and rimmed by a tachometric scale, making the 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono Titanium possibly the sportiest model in the entire line. The sophistication of this chronograph certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Institute (COSC) is further enhanced by the red accents on the dial, such as the red arrow-tipped hand. The rectangular integrated pushers, the 12 and 6 o’clock Arabic numerals transferred beneath the sapphire crystal, as well as the date at 3 o’clock, set the finishing touch to the appealingly sporty design and ensure ideal overall visual balance.
On the mechanical side, the self-winding chronograph movement beats at a rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a 48-hour power reserve. Connoisseurs will be delighted to note that this “engine” is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback of the watch. It also features a special “Light Weight” transferred inscription.
