DESCRIPTION

  • OVERSEAS DUAL TIME CARDINAL POINTS

AN INVITATION TO DISCOVER NEW HORIZONS BY ALL WAYS POSSIBLE

    OVERSEAS DUAL TIME CARDINAL POINTS

Four dial colours, each representing a cardinal point on the compass

A 41mm titanium case and integrated bracelet, to ensure strength and lightness

A manufacture movement, Calibre 5110 DT/3 displaying two time zones, AM/PM, and the date

Ne Overseas collection expresses the spirit of exploration and openness to the world that has distinguished the Maison since its earliest years. In 2026, Vacheron Constantin presents four new references, Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points, entirely crafted in titanium.

Mese new timepieces follow in the footsteps of three models unveiled in 2019 and 2021. Me first, an Overseas Dual Time prototype featuring a dark grey grained dial and a titanium case, was specially created for photographer and explorer Cory Richards and tested in extreme conditions during his ascent of Mount Everest. Two limited-edition Overseas «Everest» models followed in 2021, also crafted in titanium and directly inspired by the aesthetic of the prototype developed for Cory Richards: a Chronograph and a Dual Time model. Me new Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points is offered in four distinct shades. Me manufacture movement, Calibre 5110 DT/3 features the essential travel complications: dual time, day/ night and date. Me Geneva Hallmark stands as a prestigious testament to watchmaking, guaranteeing not only the precision and reliability of the timepiece but also, the quality of its traditional decorative finishes.

According to Cory Richards about this new Overseas series: “What resonates most deeply is the idea that we are constantly in motion. mat’s what we as humans do by our very nature. Whether it’s an internal or external journey, it always leads us towards the cardinal points to guide our lives. And in doing so, we not only uncover the world, but also uncover ourselves through that action of exploration.”

    DESIGNED TO WEATHER EVERY ADVENTURE

Me Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points watches were conceived and designed to ensure not only a degree of robustness that can withstand extreme conditions but also supreme comfort on the wrist. Me 41mm case, integrated bracelet and interchangeable folding clasp are all made from titanium, chosen for its lightness and strength. Me distinctive aesthetic and high-performance qualities of titanium are heightened by a matte anthracite grey finish on the bezel, crown and pusher ring. It creates a subtle contrast that highlights the cutaway notches which echoes the shape of the Maltese Cross on the Overseas distinctive bezel.

Me new watch is offered in a choice of four dial colours, each representing one of the cardinal compass points on and a different landscape to be explored: white represents the frozen North; brown suggests the continents and vast plains of the South; green represents

West, evoking deep forests and tropical jungles; and blue symbolises a journey to the Eastern horizon where ocean and sky meet.

A closer look at the dial invites the slow discovery of its details, with a mix finishes bringing depth and sophistication. Me grained centre dial adds textural interest and minimises reflection, contrasting with the play of light on the snailed finish of the date counter. Mis subtle game of textures is enhanced by the two concentric circles that surround the dial, each with a different finish: circular satin finish on the inner minutes track and lacquer on the external seconds track, on which numerals mark every five seconds – a reminder of the importance of precision and planning in challenging environments. Me orange hands that indicate the second time zone and the AM/PM function bring a dash of contrast to each dial, underlining the watches’ sporty character.

    A CALIBRE THAT INVITES TRAVEL

Me sapphire crystal caseback invites to discover the mechanism – manufacture self-winding calibre 5110 DT/3 developed with travellers’ needs in mind and enabling simultaneous reading of two time zones. In addition to the classic local-time indications, an arrow-tipped orange hand displays the original (home) time, coupled with a matching- coloured day/night indicator. Me pointer-type date display at 6 o’clock is synchronised with local time, which can be adjusted by a dedicated pusher. Me two time zones on 12 o’clock can be adjusted by turning the crown in either direction.

A dark grey NAC treatment on the bridges echoes the colour of the titanium case and contrasts with the colour of some visible elements of the gear train and with the 22K 3N yellow gold winding rotor, which features the signature Overseas compass rose.

Among these finishes, perlage is applied across the mainplate, extending even to the underside – a detail that, though unseen once the movement is cased, underscores an unwavering commitment to perfection and hidden beauty. Complementing this, the visible bridges are adorned with the distinctive Côtes de Genève that catches the light and adds depth. In addition to these finishes, the hand-bevelling involves meticulously chamfering and polishing the edges of components, creating brilliant facets that highlight their contours. All of these finishes demonstrate the artisans savoir-faire, some being invisible once the watch is assembled, and others visible through the transparent case back.

    ONE WATCH, THREE STYLES

Designed as a truly travel companion, the Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points watch features an integrated, interchangeable titanium bracelet with a three-blade folding clasp. It incorporates the collection’s signature

«Easy-fit» system, allowing for quick adjustments without removing any links. Two rubber straps with interchangeable titanium folding clasp complete the offering: one orange with a texture inspired by the Maltese cross, the other matching the dial color with a textured pattern. Each strap can be changed in seconds without tools.

Me Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points watches are available exclusively from Vacheron Constantin’s boutiques worldwide.

INTERVIEW WITH CORY RICHARDS, PHOTOGRAPHER AND EXPLORER

How do these models reflect your personal connection with Vacheron Constantin?

When I look at them, I see a reflection of the prototype watch created in 2019. When I see the dial, I’m brought back to that trip where we tried to climb a new route on the northeast face of Everest in 2019. And I’m right there again. I can feel myself sitting on a ledge chopped out of the ice at 25,000 feet, sitting through the night, shivering. It was one of the most exposed moments of my life and I was always looking at the watch and seeing the dual time and thinking about what time it was back home. Mis connection, this tether to another world, a world outside of me, a world I knew still existed was so important. Every watch in this new series is representative of that initial collaboration.

How do you feel about wearing an Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points?

To wear one of the cardinal points feels very much as if I’ve stepped deeper into an exploration with Vacheron Constantin, if that makes any sense. And it also becomes a reminder of a continued desire to uncover and explore.

All timepieces can act as reminders of how precious this finite resource is. Each of us has only a limited amount of time and none of us knows how much that is. It cannot be bought. It cannot be sold. And it’s the thing that is most important to our lives and the most ethereal in all ways.

When I look at one of the cardinal points, I’m reminded to keep looking, to keep exploring. And to always be curious, but never to seek. I’ve come to understand recently that there’s a profound difference between seeking and being curious. Seeking searches for an answer. It’s hungry. It’s thirsty for something. Curiosity is a way of being that just wants to know more. Mere’s no end to it. And I think it’s more playful, more fun. It’s more fulfilling because ultimately there are no answers.

As a mountaineer, which cardinal point occupies the most special place in your heart and why?

I think for me East is where I begin because so much of my work stands in the East – in the Central Asian Plateau, Tibet, Nepal, India – the places that drew me to the larger mountain ranges. Mose are the places that I have longed for since I was a child. In my career since then, I’ve photographed north of the Arctic Circle, all the way to Antarctica and all the way back west.

Me interesting thing is that if you go far enough North, you’ll start going South and if you go far enough East, you’ll start going West. It’s an infinite loop. And it’s not just the cardinal points; they’re only the jumping off point to northwest, northeast, southwest and so on. Like time and like life itself, it’s a constantly revolving sphere that inevitably leads you back to yourself and to where you started.

So, any of those points are representative not only of where you go but where you are. Because you’ll always come back to that place. But if I had to choose one, I would say East because that’s where it really started for me.

As a photographer, what do you hope viewers experience when they see your work?

I want my photography to communicate the intimacy and bond that we as humans share, not only with each other but also with the world that we inhabit.

And I want to ignite a piece of discomfort or love or some deeper, intimate sensation that allows a deeper connection and allows us to then step back into a broader emotional experience that makes us feel connected. Me whole point of photography is to use the exceptional to amplify the things that we all share collectively and bring us together.

What are some of the most rewarding moments of your career so far?

Me most rewarding thing is not where I have been moving through the world, but where I’ve come home. What I mean by that is through all of the motion, the stimulation, the high risk, the adventure, the exploration, the isolation – ultimately, all of that brought me back to myself. To learn that there was nothing outside myself that could complete me.

Me greatest reward, the thing I’m most proud of, is finally coming home to myself. It’s not a place. It’s not an expedition or a summit that I’ve stood on. It’s not a magazine article or a photograph I’ve taken. Me reward has been coming home to me and finding that peace within myself that is always there, that needs nothing to sustain it and that’s accessible to me at every moment of every day and every second throughout my life.
