DESCRIPTION

  • CLASSIC AND TIMELESS

Like a beautiful piece of music, there are watch collections that are untouched by time.

Orchestrating the hundreds of components that bring a watch movement to life demands an expertise and tools similar to those of a craftsman creating the perfect instrument, one which will never go out of fashion. Bringing 60 crafts together under one roof to create a traditional watch - unpretentious, pure and refined – requires the same effort as that of a conductor striving to draw the best out of his musicians to create the pure emotion of perfectly mastered acoustic effects. Over one as over the other, time holds no sway.

With over 250 years of uninterrupted activity and expertise behind it, Vacheron Constantin boasts a unique heritage, one which remains the absolute benchmark in the world of Haute Horlogerie.

Far from simply preserving and perpetuating its heritage, the manufacture has enriched it over the years with new models and complications. For Vacheron Constantin, history only means something if it helps you understand the present. This is the thinking behind the models in the Patrimony line: they reinterpret tradition in a spirit adapted to contemporary values and tastes. Just like those great musical pieces given a new life under the baton of a modern conductor.

PATRIMONY, A CLASSIC SCORE FOR FOUR HANDS

The Patrimony line captures the very essence of Vacheron Constantin, its heritage and its savoir-faire, patiently acquired over more than 250 years. It is also the symbol of pure elegance, a quality long associated with Vacheron Constantin.

With its round cases and timeless classicism, the Patrimony line harks back to the purest tradition of watchmaking. Its two expressions –Patrimony Traditionnelle and Patrimony Contemporaine – reveal two very distinct styles.

    Patrimony
Distinguished by their purity and unpretentious refinement, the models in the Patrimony Contemporaine line express the values that have established Vacheron Constantin’s reputation over the centuries. Sophistication and elegance are conveyed through the slender cases inspired by the ultra-thin models which have characterised the history of Vacheron Constantin for over half a century.

The distinguishing features of the models in this line are its taut curves, slim profiles, large diameters, slender trapezoid hour-markers, baton hands, domed dials and a minute-track beaded with gold cabochons. If they can be considered pure Vacheron Constantin timepieces, it is because they powerfully convey the refined sense of aesthetics which the Manufacture has made its very own.

    PATRIMONY SELF-WINDING

    The art of achieving simplicity

Simplicity is a demanding exercise in style, as the new Patrimony Self-Winding watch shows perfectly.

In the spirit of the historic ultra-thin models that have made Vacheron Constantin’s reputation, this 18K pink gold case – already introduced in white gold and yellow gold versions - is only 8.31 mm thick.

Its 40 mm diameter, large for a classic watch, features a large opening on a clean, uncluttered dial. Curved and enhanced by a minute-track beaded with gold cabochons, slender trapezoid hour-markers and baton hands, this silvered opaline dial displays the aesthetic values that identify the Patrimony Contemporaine line.

The refined dial and case are balanced by an interior elegance. This new Patrimony Self-Winding houses the new 2450 calibre which, like the 2455, belongs to this new generation of self-winding calibres developed and manufactured by Vacheron Constantin.

It bears the prestigious Geneva Hallmark and beats at 28,800 vibrations/hour. Besides displaying the hours and minutes, it has a centre seconds and a date window at 6 o’clock. With a power reserve of approximately 43 hours, this calibre features ceramic ball bearings inthe rotor system, dispensing with the need for lubrication and guaranteeing the system a longer life.

It is also equipped with a stop seconds device for stopping the watch and setting it to the nearest second. It should come as no surprise, therefore, that the Patrimony Self-Winding is destined for a very long life.
