Portofino
Few words are needed to describe its success: The Portofino from IWC is the unassuming beauty. The mechanical chronograph is a new addition to the family with immediate effect.
The Portofino from IWC Schaffhausen is what can be described as an eternal classic. Three hands and the date, finished. All combined harmoniously with a clear dial and a discreet case in stainless steel or gold. This is why the Portofino has been the quiet star in the collection many years and has experienced only minor, scarcely perceptible changes. What is new about the Portofino can be summed up as follows: the cases of the Portofino Automatic, in other words the classic size, have grown by one millimetre to 39 mm in diameter. The smaller Portofino Midsize model brings a case diameter 34 mm to the wrist. All the dials, whether white, silver or black, bear the same clear graduations for the indices and hand forms. And all the three-hand watches in the Portofino family are powered by a 30110 calibre mechanical automatic movement. The case materials are stainless steel with a silvered or black dial, and rose gold with a white dial for the Portofino Automatic. The Portofino Midsize is available in rose gold and stainless steel with a silvered dial, and in a stainless steel variant with a dark blue dial and a blue crocodile leather strap.
To round off these genetic ties, the family is now also joined by a purist mechanical Portofino Chronograph, with automatic winding, small seconds, seconds stop function and aggregate time recording up to 12 hours. It is available with a slivered dial and in black in a stainless steel case. It is powered by the reliable 79320 calibre movement. All Portofino models have antireflective sapphire glasses, are water-resistant to 3bar (30m) and are supplied with brown or black crocodile leather straps.
