Tambour Grey Titanium
Tambour Grey Titanium was designed by Kim Jones for her latest Louis Vuitton Autumn-Winter 2018 men’s catwalk show and is inspired by the world of climbing. It reinterprets the design codes of the Tambour, created in 2002, by adorning the wrist with a combination of unique colours.
The anthracite-grey dial stamped with the “V” from Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s travel trunks is adorned with fluorescent hour markers and hands. These lively, electrifying orange tones are a nod to the technical codes of the outdoor wardrobe, one of the central themes of the catwalk show. Finally, the strap is interchangeable in the manner of a snap clasp, and it is made from subtly metallic alligator, like certain bags in the collection. Its production is a heartfelt tribute to Louis Vuitton’s leather goods craftsmen who are able to transfer their age-old expertise to the expectations of today.
Enriched by the influence of fashion and leather goods, and remaining faithful to the spirit of travel, the Tambour Grey Titanium highlights the coherence of this collection and allows La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton to offer a unique timepiece.
