  • The Alpina COMTESSE Lady Collection

Geneva - September 2015 – For Immediate Release

In 1963 Alpina first launched its COMTESSE ladies collection with automatic movements and this year Alpina re-introduces this important line to mark its long tradition in the design of fine ladies sport watches, which began in the 1920's.

The new range of Alpina COMTESSE watches is a delightful balance of sportiness and elegance. The COMTESSE line embodies the concept of Swiss Alpine Chic, which recalls the timeless Alpine glamour of the St. Moritz style to the fullest: Character, Luxury and Simplicity. Ladies will love the elegant yet strong presence of this watch. The new collection consists of 5 watches, which range from a stainless steel model to a yellow gold two-tone model with a diamonds bezel and 11 diamonds on the dial. All models feature a refined guilloche pattern of the Alpina triangle symbol on the dial and are 100M/330ft water-resistant.

    Stainless Steel

The COMTESSE in stainless steel encases an AL-525 automatic mechanical movement with 26 jewels and a power reserve of 38 hours; and is water-resistant up to 10ATM (100m, 300ft). It comes in three versions of dials, silver plain or with red triangle guilloché decoration and applied diamonds indexes, and comes also with or without 59 diamonds on the bezel. The stainless steel version comes with a choice of a grey or white genuine leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

    Two-tone

Identical to the stainless steel in terms of movement features and water-resistance, the two-tone version feature a diamonds bezel execution with 59 diamonds set on a gold plated bezel with dial finely decorated with the red triangle guilloché and with 11 applied diamond indexes; This model offers a stainless steel metal bracelet with a yellow PVD central link.

    About Alpina
    THE ORIGINAL SWISS SPORT WATCH

ALPINE SPORTS WATCH MANUFACTURING SINCE 1883

Alpina, famous for its red triangle signature, is an independent, family-owned fine watchmaking manufacture based in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 1883, Alpina’s watchmaking history spans more than 130 years.

A true pioneer of the Swiss watchmaking industry, Alpina has been the source of numerous patents and innovative calibers. Alpina invented the concept of the Swiss sport watch, as we know it today, with the birth of its legendary Alpina 4 in 1938.
Today, Alpina is one of the very few independent Swiss watch companies, which develops, produces and assembles its movements entirely in-house. Alpina proposes five in-house calibers: the AL-980 Tourbillon; the AL-718 World Timer; the AL-950 Automatic Regulator; the AL-710 Automatic Small Date, and, most recently, the AL-760 Flyback Chronograph, featuring the new and patented “Direct Flyback” technology.
Faithful to its long tradition of innovation, in 2015 Alpina introduced the first connected Swiss Made Horological Smartwatch, thereby creating an entirely new watch category in the Swiss watch industry.

Alpina’s mission is to design and engineer luxury sport watches that operate with the greatest precision and reliability possible in the most demanding sporting environments, like the Alps.
