TAG Heuer’s R&D team continue this legacy. The Monaco V4 of 2004, the first gear-less, belt-driven watch. The Mikrotimer of 2011, the first to achieve 1,1000 of a second accuracy. These are just two of many patented breakthroughs— the list stretches back a century and half.

A bedazzling jewelry piece, the watch’s 32mm white ( or black) dial is adorned with 12 Wesselton diamonds. Another 48 Wesseltons glitter on the polished steel case. The black minute indicators are printed. The rhodium faceted minute and hour hands have luminescent markers. The steel crown protectors are polished, as are the screw-in crown and screw-in case back. The bracelet, in 5-rowed steel and black ceramic, with polished steel “butterfly” folding clasp and safety push buttons, is a knockout.
