A golden bridge to unite people

A cultural bridge
Organized under the patronage of Mr José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, and under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland, the Time for Peace Film & Music Awards will take place in Paris on December 10th, 2010. Created in 1994 in New York by Marion and Robert Einbeck, the Time for Peace Film & Music Awards are an honorary distinction for films and music, recognized for their artistic qualities, which promote humanitarian values around the world. Creating a cultural bridge with the USA, the ceremony will be organized for the first time in Europe and will reward only European works of art.
Many cultural figures will meet at the Hôtel Ritz to congratulate the winners of the five prize categories – best movie, best actress, best actor, best sports movie and best music.

A humanitarian bridge
The mission of the Time for Peace Award is to show that film and music can be bearers of life enriching values and raise individual consciousness. By connecting people from all walks of life, they help to bring a better understanding of the world and can positively influence all people. Convinced by the communicative qualities of film and music, the founders of the awards wish to perpetuate humanitarian values such as tolerance, respect for differences, solidarity and better understanding between people.

A horological bridge
By linking the Corum Bridges collection and its legendary in-line movement to this event, Corum pays tribute to the work of the watchmakers who make up the company. Mr. Antonio Calce, CEO of Corum said: « I am proud to associate the brand’s name to an event whose goal is to unite women and men and to promote humanitarian values. Corum has always supported its employees and placed the quality of their personal development at the center of its concern. Shared values are essential to the balance of the world and at the heart of the progress of each society. This partnership is a strong symbol for Corum, creating a new golden bridge; the bridge which unites differences and brings people together.”

Marion and Robert Einbeck, cofounders of the Time for Peace Film & Music Awards, said: « For us, no other high-end watch, that displays such iconic innovation, could better fit our goal to create a cinematic, musical and humanitarian cultural bridge between USA and Europe than the Corum Bridges collection. The bridge allows openness between populations, a way to link two banks, to discover the unknown and experience the faraway. The structure of the Corum Bridges recalls an architectural dimension close to the initial project of Time for Peace, which was to build a place hosting all realms of art, to promote tolerance, respect and solidarity. The Corum Bridges and Time for Peace’s mission symbolize openness towards others but also the desire to gain inner peace by walking on a bridge, a liberty-maker, a path to self-discovery.”

The partnership with Time for Peace opens new horizons and heralds a new bridge between watchmaking art and the cinematic art.
