Tissot is no exception in the “green watches” trend of this year. Indeed, the brand has launched a Gentleman Powermatic 80 Sicilium with a green dial… but also a grey one. With good value for money, this collection is also a real playing field for the Maison. Over the years, it launched different versions: quartz, titanium, pink or yellow gold bezel, steel or leather bracelet, etc.
An automatic and tender heart for the Gentleman
Several versions are available since its launching, both 40mm diameter stainless steel timepieces have the same mechanic feature. Powered by the “Powermatic 80” automatic calibre, they bear – just like their name says – a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The movement, equipped with a silicon antimagnetic spring and visible through the sapphire glass, pleases the eye with an oscillating weight delicately decorated with a “Waves of time” decoration.
Everything lies in the details
Like a perfect Gentleman, the collection is flawless down to the details. Indeed, Tissot has met the challenge by making a clean easy-to-read dial. Regardless of its colour, it displays a central marking sighting-line. In order to enable an easier reading of time, the white luminescent material covering the Dauphine hands and markers creates a contrast on the whole dial. There is also a date aperture at 3 o’clock and a motion work on the edges of the dial.
According to the brand, the simple and effective design of the Powermatic 80 Silicium was created for men. But we think that we can describe either models as genderless and will suit very well the feminine writs.
