Rotonde de Cartier single push-piece tourbillon chronograph, 9431 MC calibre: a combination of exclusive complications
In 2005 and for the first time in watchmaking history, Cartier presented a movement that combined two key complications - the single push-piece chronograph and the tourbillon - in the calibre 9431 MC.
This highly original combination gave rise to the Rotonde de Cartier tourbillon single push-piece chronograph, wich is distinguished by both its exceptional technical characteristics and its delicate silhouette. The transparent sapphire crystal case-back enables the calibre to be observed along with its major components, such as the tourbillon or the operating lever, which is linked directly to the to both the winding mechanism and the column wheel and controls the functions: start, stop and reset. It also enables both sides of the tourbillon to be observed.
A 18K pink gold case houses this outstanding complication and displays the elegance of a contemporary, pared-down design.
