- TRANSFORMA COLLECTION
IN TUNE WITH DESIRES
The new Transforma collection from Parmigiani is designed to suit life’s rich array of occasions. A wristwatch or a fob watch, sporty or elegant, it can be transformed to meet every desire. At night it becomes a table clock, marking the hours of sleep.
The new Calibre PF 334 automatic chronograph has the chameleon-like ability to transform as the situation, time and desire dictates. First and foremost a wristwatch, the Transforma can also be used as a fob watch or a table clock. The owner can retain the link with their watch both day and night.
Its steel exterior lends the Transforma a pure aesthetic which is perfectly suited to its various roles. Its silvered dial is adorned with a “Côtes de Genève” decoration applied in the manufacture’s own workshops. The Chronograph function is visible via the raised graphite-coloured hour and minute counters. The date is displayed in a large window at 6 o’clock. A tachometer scale completes the indications on the Transforma.
MODULAR USES - A THREE-PHASE TRANSFORMATION
With its classic round, ergonomic shape featuring curved lugs, the Transforma collection can be adapted in a variety of ways. Like a jaw seizing and swallowing up the main body of the watch, the steel “cover” is deployed by simply pressing the two lateral push-pieces on the two lower lugs.
Once released, the main part - the case - then clips naturally into the softly rounded steel fob watch holder. With its asymmetric right side, the holder provides access to the Chronograph functions as well as the winding and setting components – the push-pieces and the crown - even when the bezel is lowered. Extended by a steel chain, the Transforma becomes one of the classics of the watchmaking world.
The third incarnation of the new Transforma collection, the table clock is made of macassar ebony, a highly valuable wood, houses the wristwatch. Like a rotating presentation case, the winding mechanism starts up automatically once the timepiece is positioned. At the end of the process, the table clock places the Transforma in the vertical position to make the time perfectly readable. Three small compartments on the side have been designed to hold the fob watch and its chain, the warranty card or any other Transforma components.
A WATCH PRODUCED ENTIRELY IN THE MANUFACTURE’S OWN WORKSHOPS
The watch’s dial, movement and two steel cases have been produced entirely in Parmigiani’s workshops (Foundation Watchmaking Manufactures), from manufacture to hand finishing, in line with highly stringent criteria . The steel Transforma is equipped with a Hermès alligator leather strap with deployant buckle.
