Oris plays a blinder with the Hölstein Edition 2026
No flashy complications or over-the-top design. For this Hölstein Edition 2026, Oris relies on its new Artelier, adding a series of exclusive touches — from a mirror sub-seconds dial to an iridescent case back. Limited to 250 pieces, this anniversary timepiece celebrates both the Swiss brand’s roots and its ability to deliver understated and coherent creations.
Back to Hölstein
Every year on the 1st of June, Oris celebrates its founding anniversary with a special edition named after its birthplace: Hölstein. The exercise might seem conventional. Over the years, it has become a highly expected meeting for the brand’s collectors. For this seventh Hölstein Edition, the independent Swiss watchmaker is building on one of its major 2026 releases: the new Artelier.

The Hölstein Edition 2026 takes its cues from the new Artelier.
It is a logical choice. Revealed at Watches and Wonders, this lineup marks the return of a historic line in a refined and more contemporary iteration. The Hölstein Edition 2026 revamps its core features, with a 39.5mm stainless steel case, a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, and a grey suede leather strap. The result is a dashing, almost minimalist silhouette.

The devil is in the detail
The timepiece doesn’t shout for attention. Its appeal grows progressively. The pale grey dial highlights a mirror-finished seconds subdial that catches the light. It shifts the way you perceive the dial depending on the angle. Furthermore, the red hand provides the only real pop of colour across the entire timepiece. However, the most distinctive craftsmanship is saved for the back.

Oris developed with ETH Zurich and its partner Inspire a laser treatment. It creates an iridescent effect on the case back. The famous Oris Bear takes centre stage against a shifting backdrop, surrounded by concentric rings that reveal themselves depending on the reflections. It is a subtle touch, but distinctive enough to give this edition a character all of its own.

The calibre 401 takes centre stage
Striking as the design is, however, the most significant development may lie elsewhere. This Hölstein Edition is the first next-generation Artelier to be powered by the calibre 401. As a part of the calibre 400 family, this self-winding movement delivers a 5-day power reserve, enhanced resistance to magnetic fields, and an advertised accuracy of between -3 and +5 seconds per day.

Limited to 250 pieces, this special edition sticks to the recipe that made the success of previous models: a solid technical foundation, a few exclusive details, and a deliberately restricted production. It is a timepiece that doesn’t shout, but rather quietly reminds us what still makes Oris stand out in Swiss watchmaking: their independence and ability to affirm their personality.
